I have been going to The Colonnade for decades. Love, love, love it. In fact, I am going tonight to meet friends. There is nothing about The Colonnade I would change. Best drinks in town, best food in town, best prices in town, friendly service. I always see people I know, which makes it like being with friends. Having the staff call you by name makes you feel very welcome and appreciated. Keep it up Colonnade; don't change a thing.

This is not a review, but a mere grammatical error found on the menu. The word "coarse" should be replaced with the correct word of 'course". Thanks.

I have always been a fan of the Colonnade, but this past Saturday was disappointing. We were seated right away (arrived about 4:30pm), but waited and waited until a waiter came by and asked if we had yet been waited on. He went to find our waitress and came back saying she was AWOL, so he took care of us. He did a good job. The second problem was the food. Two in my party ordered the fried catfish, which they have had before. The fish was bad/inedible. Our waiter took their order for the fried chicken instead and brought it right out. The manager came over and apologized for the fish stating "I'm sorry. sometimes this just happens depending on who we get the fish from." This was not reassuring. I got the shrimp and grits, which were OK, just lacked any seasoning. (I took the leftovers home and put some Creole Seasoning on them which did the trick.). The fried chicken is pretty good, but again is a bit bland. Needs salt and/or seasoning! If I want to eat low salt or "healthy" I would go somewhere else, but I go to Colonnade for good Home Cookin! Please Colonnade, start adding seasoning and find a better vender to get your fish!

I have heard about this restaurant for years and because no one could decide on dinner, this restaurant was chosen. I will never go here again to eat. I enjoyed nothing. The restaurant is huge. There is a good size lounge area where the bar is located to wait for your table. It was nice and plush. Once seated, we placed our order quickly because everyone was hungry. Our food was received quickly. I order chicken livers and a shrimp plate. The chicken livers looked delicious when they arrived to the table but as they say, "Looks can be deceiving." These livers were so bland and I tried hot sauce and the dressing on the side to revive them, but they would not come back to life. My shrimp plate was just as bland. The potato salad side was the only decent thing out of my whole meal. The prices were average. My experience was very surprising because I had only heard great things about the Colonnade and the place was packed. Needless to say, I don't care how hungry I am, I will not venture here again.

You wanna step back in time with some old-fashioned service, good southern food and servers with character? Try the Colonnade! Each time I get a new server- I am impressed with their personality and stories I hear. The southern food is basic - but good and hits the right spot- not your guts with fat, salt or heartburn. No checks or plastic- ATM is at the front. Notice- a lot of the customers are um, a little on the experienced side- which tells me the place will keep you coming back for more if they have been coming back this long- and they can still take it. Give it a shot.

The fried chicken in all its offerings are great, as is the fried okra. I've tried the catfish and many other dishes over the last 15 years. I'm convinced you can close your eyes and put your finger down at random and not get a bad dish.

I'm from Michigan! my thought was good southern cooking would be everywhere in the south...No so! This place was recommended by a little old lady at another restaurant, and now I go back every time I'm in Atl. Last time I was there, I took a whole group of locals that had never they are regulars!
