I lost interest in google + for a while, but now facebook's slow loading and interface changes are irritating me so much that I'm giviing it another try. This looks interesting, although I'm not sure I agree with her about the Iliad.
People I don't know keep adding me; this never happened on facebook! Not that I mind, I'm just curious as to why and wherefore. Also, is this a sign of a difference from facebook - people treating it as more of a non-reciprocal blogging platform than a social network? We don't have to be 'friends' to read each other? Or maybe I'm just more interesting on Google+.
PhD candidate in Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto
I'm a PhD student in Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto; I'm interested in affect, empathy, fannishness, queerness, Latin literature, English literature, Christian religiosity, history, and 'genre fiction' (most particularly romance, science fiction and crime), their literary structures, and the reading communities that grow around them. I like to grow plants, cook food, and write stories.
