I'm very sad to hear your closing the doors. My family came there to be together in 2000 just before my youngest son went into the Navy. We had such a great time and the food was great too! He's home now, but we will always remember what a fun place it was. there was about 12 of us to celebrate. Seems like only yesterday.. Happy Trails to you and yours

Ive been a customer since the 60's. It was consistently a pleasure, now a hit and miss. When its a miss, its really in the trees. Would be nice if they had a mesquite grill. But then like so many things of the past, quantity (price) is in lieu of quality.

My family use to eat there every week for years. Always had great steaks and the bread is to die for. But then the son took it over and ruined it. Jacked up prices way to high and made portions smaller. Still good food but can get as good of a steak from outback and still have $ for cold stone after.

I love this place. My fiance and I experianced this fine steak house for the first time last Valentine's day. I was amazed at the amount of people that were there,of course that had a lot to do with Michael Mr. Monti himself running for mayor of tempe. The prompt service was amazing, friendly and all with a smile. To have service under busy pressure like that with a smile is quality service. Lets face it, we are all human with mistakes at times. Don't get me started on the food....big smile

I have never had such an insulting experience as the last time I visited Monti's. Working at the bar is a young Asian-American woman, an admitted felon, who wouldn't stop bothering me while I ate my food. This not only happened once, but twice when I went in she showed up and wouldn't stop talking to me. She made insulting (anti-American) racial insinuations and spent a considerable time making fun of my disability. When I complained to the manager he ignored my concerns totally, and maid it clear that he protects his own. He then threatened me with violence while forcing me to leave. Obviously, at Montis the customer is always wrong and if you complain they treat you like trash. Don't expect hospitality or respect from these people, because in their minds - it's all about them.

Our Server was Steve, and he was excellent. The bread basket was fantastic, the rosemary bread, and the creamy butter were amazing. Ordered the guacamole; very creamy, great flavor, enjoyed that very much. The entree came with salad and a soup. The soup was chicken tortilla soup. Really excellent handmade soup, with lots of chicken, lots of veggies. Delicious! For my entree I had the prime rib; it was the perfect temperature, and served with creamy horseradish, and a delicious au jus. I have been to Monti's previously, but it had been a while. I was happy to recall what I'd been missing.

One of my favorites since I was just a kid. Great for "locals" and for anyone visiting the area. If you are from out of town, put this at the top of your list to get some great food and learn about some of the rich history of the city of Tempe. For dinner try the prime rib, it is SO good. Lunch specials are good, too.

I went here for my birthday dinner and I had the SALTIEST STEAK EVER! Everyone elses food were fine. But mine was super salty. I told our waiter about it then the manager came by and told me that it was impossible because they season everything the same. He tried to have me choose something else, yet everyone else was already finished eating. I will never go back here.
