Views are amazing. Stayed in a two-level suite with kitchen. Rooms outdated, lot of scuff marks on furniture and service a miss (housekeeping came by twice in the morning of checkout even though we had late checkout) given the very high price. Pacific Edge restaurant views during sunset are very romantic. Not kid friendly. Only pack n play, no real crib available. No kids menu in restaurants... But kids menu on in room dining?!? Overall great for the views but not much else.

Just had my wedding here last Saturday. Absolutely perfect. Not only is the location breathtaking, but the staff go above and beyond to be professional. Even though I had an outside planner I know that our perfect day was greatly helped by Shelly and Yuri. Communication throughout the planning phase was excellent. There is turnover throughout the year in their staff. I understand that though, the planning process takes a long time and who wouldn't want to promote these wonderful people? My mother in law was delighted with the staff as well. She could not stop gushing about them, and obviously, I cant' either! Guests were delighted with food and overall experience. We picked the salmon and filet mignon. I recommend the surf room. The pictures I found online don't do it justice. P.S. Thanks Kevin for being an amazing bartender!

What an amazing and special place. Cannot wait to come back and visit. This is about 15 minutes just south of Carmel, above the highway and overlooking the water. It is not technically on the water, but it has fabulous views and the rooms are extremely spacious. We were treated like royalty. Additionally, we were able to borrow bikes for the day and bring them down to the 17 mile drive for a great day of biking and enjoying the scenery. Cannot recommend this place more highly.

Very nice staff. Ate at the hotel restaurant on the first night and was very impressed. Great view of the ocean and the fireplace was a nice touch.

Fantastic property for lodging while visiting Carmel and Big Sur, etc. Oceanview suites are amply appointed, dining at Sunset Lounge is lovely, and hotel amenities are well-suited for both relaxation and explorative activity (complimentary bicycles and binoculars etc. are provided). Staff is incredible; we were warmly welcomed the moment we entered the inn. Located near Point Lobos State Natural Reserve. Truly a fantastic spot; looking forward already to our next visit.

Our Beautiful Wedding was held here! My husband and I were married here on January 30th. We could not have been happier with everything the wedding coordinator/banquet manager did for us. The location was beautiful, but what was even more important is the way that we were treated, by the TEAM at hotel. Every bride considering a wedding in this area should look at this venue. The accommodations made for me before the wedding were wonderful. A place to get dressed and enjoy the day fully. At every turn, there was Shelley Rodriguez helping us make everything perfect. The bartenders were accommodating, the dinner was delicious the wait staff was quick and friendly and we felt like we didn't have to lift a finger. We just enjoyed! Friends and family told us numerous times it was THE BEST WEDDING EVER!! Thank you sooooo much TEAM OF THE HYATT HIGHLANDS! We had a blast!

The experience and food were lovely. The problem was they illegally charged my credit card triple the amount I signed for! I first noticed online the next day when there were 2 card charges under their name on my statement. I called the GM and never heard back. The next day there was only one charge but it was triple what my bill was! I have called the GM twice and the restaurant manager twice and they still haven't returned my calls. If you have been to this establishment recently I would check your statements. Their handling of this, or not handling of this is egregious!

The service here was good overall. Parking is complimentary valet. The hotel staff help bring wood in. Our tv did not work but they came to repair that. We got complimentary alcohol but since we are tee totalers, they replaced that with sparkling cider & chocolate covered strawberries. At their main restaurant, we were given a meat soup instead of the vegetarian one that we ordered & that was replaced. So all in all, good service. The hotel has ocean views throughout, & that is what you are paying for here. The lounge is also a good place to watch the sunset. At night if you are bored, the pay per view is quite expensive, so get DVDs from the Safeway down the street.
