Thanks to everyone that watched! That was so much fun! For questions that we didn't get to answer in the hangout, please see our answers below. If you have any more questions, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q1: I am married and expecting a child before next summer. How does the internship housing work for someone that would be in my situation?
A1: We pay for housing for our interns that are selected. Similar situations as yours may come up, and we work with those on a case by case basis. For more information, please feel free to email us at email@example.com.
Q2: Does age matter for the internship? I will be 20 next summer and a college senior. Will my age effect the way my application is viewed?
A2: Age does not matter. Just as long as someone fits the following requirements (currently enrolled at a school in the US pursuing a bachelor's/master's/PhD with an expected graduation date between May 2017-June 2018), they are more than welcome to apply.
Q3: If I graduate this May, but plan on attending law school next year, would that impact my chances?
A3: The internship period is Monday, June 12, 2017 - Friday, August 18, 2017. If law school won't start until after that period, then you are totally free to apply! You pursuing growth and learning will not affect how your application is viewed.
Q4: If we have already applied for the internship, can we expect to hear back before September 23?
A4: You will definitely hear back before or by that date!
Q5: Where you guys are accepting applications?
A5: Please apply at internships.zappos.com
Q6: Can people that graduate this coming summer still apply for internship?
A6: If you are planning on graduating Summer 2016, then that is outside the required expected graduation date of May 2017-June 2018, and you are not able to apply. Only those graduating between May 2017-June 2018 can apply.
Q7: It says that we can only apply to two positions. Are we considered for other positions with our application?
A7: You can apply for more than one position, but please note that you MUST complete a challenge & virtual interview for each position in order to be considered for that internship.
Q8: Hey! As I am from India. Am I eligible for internship?
A8: Unfortunately, I have some bad news. Since you are not currently enrolled at an accredited university in the United States, you will not be eligible to apply for the internship.
Q9: How about international students from overseas, are there any specific procedures for them?
A9: International students are welcome to apply as long as they fit the eligibility requirements (see A2 above) and can legally work in the United States. If you are NOT currently in the United States, then you are ineligible to apply.
Q10: Is there an alternative for students who are not able to take a couple days off class?
A10: These are special situations that we look into on a case by case basis. For more information, please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q11: Oh yeah! how does the bistro work? It says for interns that lunch is included? Is that everyday lunch is free in the bistro for the interns?
A11: Our Bistro provides free soups, salads & sandwiches everyday. If you want to pay for a hot meal thorough our grill/deli/premium salad bar, they range from $5-$6.
