Dear  #FASD  Community:
This study and its findings are VERY important to know.
Sleep fragmentation with resulting poor processing and consolidation of memories also happens in traumatic stress situations and PTSD conditions.
Memory is affected in both and the resulting behaviors (i.e., what looks like lying, confabulating, etc) trick us with neurotypical brains into believing there is willfulness, opposition, manipulation, deceit and all those negative things going on.
I'm not sure where to go with this this morning, but I want to spread this finding so more folks can think about it.

Could you do me a favor? Click on the link and vote for my pic!
It's for a contest to go to Billings, Montana... Whoever gets the most votes could win. It's a silly contest that was based on a poster in the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport.
Thanks!

This is one of the most thoughtful articles I've read about the state of #FASD. Thank you, Jill Burke! Article at http://www.alaskadispatch.com/article/20140220/alcohol-exposed-babies-why-prevention-not-easy-just-dont-drink
