The Christian life consists of sitting with Christ, walking by him and standing in him. We begin our spiritual life by resting in the finished work of the Lord Jesus. That rest is the source of our strength or a consistent and unfaltering walk in the world. And at the end of a grueling warfare with the hosts of darkness we are found standing with him at last in triumphant possession of the field.
~Watchman Nee, Sit, Walk, Stand

A saint is not someone who is good but who experiences the goodness of God. ~Merton (1915-1968)

Grace that is not combined or mixed with faith is value-less. This is not to glorify faith but to acknowledge that grace comes to us only through faith. An objectively true gospel that is not believed is a gospel of no value. An unbelieved gospel is as worthless as an unbanked check.

Then, if Christ’s poverty be such as I have tried to describe it, what must the riches of his people be? If our riches are proportionate to His poverty, what rich people we are! He was as poor as poor can be; and we, if we are believing in Him, are as rich as rich can be.
~CH Spurgeon, Christ’s Incarnation

Probably the most important thing I’ve written:

Is willful sin unforgivable? Well if Jesus can’t forgive the sins we’ve done on purpose then no one can be saved. Happily, his best is greater than your worst and his grace is greater than your sin!
