Today Is #worldwaterday  and I pledge to...

Do whatever it is that I can to raise awareness for this crisis. With over 780 million families around the world without access to clean water, the call to action needs to start now.

What am I doing? I'm carrying around a bottle of dirty water with me all day. Wherever I go. People sometimes need to see it to believe it. I'm taking my stance, and I'm starting now!

Join me and share a picture of yourself with your dirty water today for #worldwaterday

I pledge to do my part...

There are 780 Million people without access to clean water and sanitation. This the world's largest health crisis.

Tomorrow is World Water Day.

Tomorrow, join me and hundreds of other Gplussers as we carrying a dirty jug of water with us at all times tomorrow to pledge our advocacy.

Post a Picture of your dirty water and upload with the hashtag #worldwaterday2013  to raise awareness for this terrible crisis.

Did clean water come out of your tap today?

Can you imagine not having clean water? Not to drink, not to shower, not to do laundry.

This is the daily reality for one in six people worldwide who don't have access to clean water.

Every 20 seconds a child dies as the result of poor sanitation.

You are reading this and thinking, but what can I do about it?

You can help spread the word, give your time, donate money, and volunteer some of your time.

Wait, you want me to give money? Only give if you are able. Your time and effort is JUST as valuable. The more people who know, the more people who can help.

Where can I find more information? What organizations are taking donations of money & time?

Pssssst, right here:

And don’t forget the Hangout on Air hosted by +Google for Nonprofits on Friday, March 22nd – World Water Day:

Donate your +1 to this post to show you care.  Share this post to help spread the word. Shouldn’t everyone on our planet have access to clean water?

Do not Panic! I think the big cover photos are awesome for one, and I can't wait to see what else is in store!

Some profile & page improvements, per your request

We spend lots of time listening to your feedback, and today we're launching some profile and page updates that you've been asking for. These include:

- A new tab for your Local reviews. In addition to your photos, +1's and YouTube videos, there's now a place for all your Local reviews. Highlight your favorite restaurants, or hide the tab completely via settings -- it's completely up to you.

- An easier way to edit your info. The 'About' tab now consists of separate cards (like Story, Places, and Links) -- each with its own prominent edit link. As always: you can share specific fields with specific circles, or keep them just for you.

- Bigger cover photos, with a better aspect ratio. Cover photos are much larger than before (up to 2120px by 1192px), and they display in 16x9 when fully expanded. This way more images can be used as cover photos, and there’s more room for your selection to shine.

Everything's rolling out gradually, so check back soon if you don't see it yet. Once it’s live (at, let us know your thoughts in the comments!

So excited for #ourearth  and #earthday2013  This week!

This Earth Day, we're taking inspiration from nature's engineers—from remora to bears—to see how they can teach us to treat the environment better. On our website, alongside beautiful photos from National Geographic, you can learn more about the ingenuity of the natural world and some simple actions you can take to care for the environment:

Of course, we also have a doodle for Earth Day. Visit to interact with the doodle and see how the seasons, weather and wildlife are all connected.

Days a the park

My favorite part about living in San Francisco is being able to spend an entire day at a park... And being totally okay with it.

This is a great place for some causal sushi fun right off of the busy Polk Street. I loved their california roll and Miso. Great deals on Saki and can be a great night for some birthday Sake bombs!

Classic american bistro comfort food... with a twist! Our party orded only things off of the appetizer menu and couldn't have been happier. Their Mac and Cheese is to die for! And who can say no to bacon wrapped meatloaf? We found our waitress to be very helpful when deciding between the correct wine pairing. A must visit in the Hayes Valley!

Authentic, and flavorful regional french cuisine. I loved the seasonal menu selection. I had the rack of lamb and it was truly delicious. This cafe is tucked away under some historic victorian buildings on Noe Street in Duboce Triangle. Inside, you will find the space to be somewhat compact, but very cozy. Dark red lighting adds to the effect. Perfect place for a date, or family dinner! Wine selection was superb. One of my favorite french restaurants in San Francisco.

One of the best local spots in Lower Haight. The ultimate happy hour and late night spot, with hundreds of beers on taps. If those aren't enough taps for you, look above to the walls and ceiling where hundreds of old taps are mounted. The bartender (don't know his name- long dark hair) is very to the point, so don't waste his time. He does do a great poor though. Bring some work buddies after a long day or go to watch a game.... You won't be disappointed!
