As I'm going to be attempting to get my WFTDA NSO Certification this year, what I'd really like is scans of your bout paperwork, so I can practice filling out stats books. Feel like sharing? The more errors the better (well.. within reason), and I'll try to fix 'em.   xrobau@gmail.com

So +Florian Haas has just ... somewhat raved about his new Toshiba Satellite Z930. I like the look of it, and the specs appear nice.  But I don't like the mac style keyboards, and I want at least one USB3 port on it. Does anyone know if such a beast exists?

Interesting tidbit I just found.  Dropbox are actually opening your .doc files. With LibreOffice. This is surprisingly bad.

I had the opportunity recently to beta-test HoneyDocs, a web app that generates documents that can 'buzz home.' This is done by a unique, embedded GET request that is initiated when the generated document has been opened. Several use cases came to mind, but I was most interested in seeing if my ...

That wasn't my vid. It was poorly encoded DVD Rip. I'm re-doing it as I type, with the original 1080p data.

I'm now raging, yet again, at Windows 8. But more at VMware. Turns out that as soon as I actually start to try to be productive, one of the two kicks me in the face. Today I have discovered that the vSphere client doesn't work on Windows 8. And VMware have known about this for months. And they don't seem to care. So.. now I either waste today putting Win7 back on this machine, or have to mess around using different computers to do vmware related things. sigh.

I've posted about this in /r/vmware:  http://www.reddit.com/r/vmware/comments/ynu4x/do_you_like_vmware_want_to_try_windows_8_well_you/

The room wasn't cleaned properly (we found a broken beer bottle underneath our 3yo's bed), plus there was at least one mouse living in the room. The pool was good. We didn't try the food. We won't be staying here again.

The rooms were very clean, and the staff were great. There's a great pool there suitable for little AND big people, with a large shallow area for toddlers to play in, a 'Cave' (seriously!), and a decent length and depth for adults. They also have a Spa and a Sauna. Best value Internet I've found at $4 per night. The Restaurant is quite pricey, but it's one of the best Restuaurants in Goondiwindi, and you are paying for quality (and quantity - their portions are a good size). We've stayed in a Family room both times, the 'Main' room has 3 singles (or 1 singles and a queen), and the secondary room has a Queen. No complaints at all. Will defiantely stay there again next time we pass through Goondiwindi.

The only plus is that it's the closest Motel to the Mater hospital in brisbane. Everything else was bad. They don't do meals there, and there's nowhere nearby to get food. They advertise 'serviced rooms daily' which ACTUALLY means 'they'll give you a fresh towel every second day'. They don't have enough parking for all their rooms, and you may need to park on the street. Internet is only available on a dedicated PC downstairs, no facility for broadband to the room. Use your mobile, it's cheaper.

Whilst the room WAS good, parking was difficult due to not enough spaces, and the pool has a leak that leaves a continuous stream of water across the driveway. These are minor issues as compared to their ludicrous pricing of their ADSL service. (Telstra at $2/15 mins, or $25 for 6 hours with ethernet). They advertise Free Broadband, but they don't actually provide it. Recommended for anyone who doesn't need to do any work whilst there.
