Please note our entrance at Buzz Ballston is located on Wilson Blvd.

Buzz Bakeshop is a beloved neighborhood bakery featuring sweets, pastries and cakes from internationally-acclaimed couture cake designer, Maggie Austin. From freshly baked cupcakes and rich fudgy brownies to decadent cream cheese-filled pumpkin muffins, and even her mom’s signature cornmeal thumbprint cookies with jam, Maggie is opening her own family recipe books to give everyone--and most importantly her own community--the opportunity to experience her very favorite baked goods.

Please note: we have two locations in Alexandria & Arlington.

Amazing bakery that serves local Vigilante coffee and has to die for macaroons. The chipwich and cupcakes are fantastic. They also have several delicious vegan options!

Nice place to grab a coffee and study. I would stay away from the food. It's your typical frozen food which is heated up later.

Cozy ambiance with good coffee that is easily the best in the area.

Sadly, much like their Alexandria location, this one just looks nice from the outside. Still the same problem of angry people working there, texting, oblivious managers, and gross miserable food. Again, the whole experience is uncomfortable to say the least.

Good cappuccino and homemade syrups. Has a pleasant environment with plenty of space to sit and do work. Free wifi. Baristas and counter servers are friendly and knowledgeable.

Torn between a 3 and 4 on this one. Appealingly, if slightly fake, informal cutesy interior. Good selection of tea. Hot chocolate is good quality, but too sweet. Desserts run heavily to cupcakes, but there's a few other things, and a very few savory things. Serves alcohol but at least on a Wednesday night had a quiet coffeeshop group of people hanging out, no barlike feel. Nice selection of small round (but shaky tables) plus a few long work tables. Several outlets but not conveniently located to the tables. Mixture of comfortable and uncomfortable chairs. Free wi-fi with password.

Good atmosphere to work/study or catch up with a friend. They have comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Reliable wifi. They have coffee all day and beer/wine at happy rates at night. They make seasonal ice cream (check the freezer) that is delicious. Our all-time favorite the Cereal Milk Ice Cream. Yum. Tips: -Follow them on Twitter/Facebook to get updates on live events, tastings, giveaways. -If you stop in RIGHT before close, sometimes they'll offer ridiculous deals ($5/dozen) on cupcakes. Otherwise they get thrown out.
