Sunny afternoon lunch on our first day in NYC. Server was amazing. Got us the single tiny table out front and was extremely attentive. The drinks just kept coming! Unfortunately he told us he had given his notice due to getting a financial job. Oh well. Wish all servers could be as great as him. We had chicken and squid. Both super tasty. Lunch ended up being a bit more expensive than hoped, but it was great overall.

We had another great evening last night in Galli. I've been here several times now and they really don't disappoint. "Italian comfort food" could make you think of large, stodgy, carb-heavy pasta dishes that send you to sleep but actually Galli does a really great modern, NYC tale on Italian. Everything I've eaten here is a great recipe with carefully thought through flavours and high quality ingredients. If you're training and gym-focussed like i am you'll find a lot here that you can enjoy. Last night's favourite was the Chicken Marsala. And they have really solid bar staff with great cocktails too. Highly recommended.

Reservation was at 9pm, arrived at 9 sharp. Now 9:50pm. The food smells good - I'll post back if I ever get to taste it.

Unremarkable pasta, incredible atmosphere. The restaurant has plenty of natural lighting and a wall covered in a plethora of framed mirrors. I'm not really sure what aesthetic they're going for with the art on the back wall but boy was it well lit. The Tegamino eggplant parm was the highlight of the meal and highly recommended for meat abstainers. Unfortunately they ran out of cheesecake and made up for it by bringing an endless supply of bread to the table. What kind of operation are you running here? Il Duce will be hearing about this.

Loved the food! Service was attentive. The only complaint I have is: turn off the top 40 pop music and play some authentic Italian! Other than that, I really recommend the seafood pasta.

This was the worst Italian food I had in Manhattan. I am amazed that they can pay the rent serving such awful food in this low quality establishment. There is absolutely nothing New York in this place other than the location of the restaurant. They serve Barilla pasta (which sells for 90 cents a box in the grocery store) made with canned tomato sauce. We had a reservation for 9 people 4 of them were from Europe and from the moment we walked in I was so embarrassed for taking them to this disgusting restaurant. Almost nothing on the menu is freshly prepared and everybody in my party hated the pasta they ordered. Not only that but they try to give the impression of a decent looking restaurant by putting two good looking hostesses at the entrance, standing next to a bar. When we got here the entire place was empty but the stupid girl at the door made us sit at the bar until the party is complete so that we can order their sugary overpriced cocktails. The food is served by amateur busboys who push your chair with their butts just so you understand that you need pull your chair to make space for them. The busboy arrives at the table with 4 plates in his hand looking at my face and we have to push the plates around the table to make space for the plates in his hand. Everything was so poor quality in this place. Obviously the crowd inside the restaurant is not decent either which doesn’t surprise me. I was afraid to order any deserts after the dinner. At the end of the dinner we received a check without asking for it and also without asking we were handed our jackets when the next party for the table arrived. For the same price there are so many places serving real Italian food with much better service in Manhattan.
