Next question: can we hook malware analysis into the compilation step to act as a mitigation technique?

I don't remember if it was you, or someone else who shared this recently - but it made me think of it with you 'malware mitigation technique' comment:

We have a new, theraputic team activity scheduled for this morning. For two hours, we're going to go strip cabling from the MDF. Because it's a mess. Because I want to instill a cleanup mentality in my team. Because it would be good to make this a 'thing' where we tackle a problem like this twice a week.

If only time was not at such a premium.

I forget, can people see what Google+ "circle" you've put them in?

Nope. For example, you can't tell that I put you in my "hitlist" circle.

Okay, so, someone I respect is using Google Plus more and more, which means I have a damn good reason to give it another shot.

"Leverage, says you. I think I feel a change in the wind, says I." Embarking on a scary, dangerous new thing. I love this.

Clay Caviness originally shared:

We (Google's internal Macintosh Operations team) will be releasing the tools and scripts and utilities we use to help manage our ... large ... fleet of Macs.

As a start we've released a simple application usage module (http://code.google.com/p/google-macops/source/browse/trunk/crankd/ApplicationUsage.py) for crankd (http://code.google.com/p/pymacadmin) as well as a simple facter recipe (http://code.google.com/p/google-macops/source/browse/trunk/facter/apps.rb) to create facts from the database.

Over time we'll be releasing other items.

We hope this helps other Macintosh administrators!

It seemed like a great idea at the time.

so what I thought I'd do was I would take a sledgehammer to the base of a large cinderblock structure

I can either make sugar cookies, or set up more NFS mounts... or wrap gifts. Yeah, that wrapping gifts thing is pretty important, dagnabit.

My wife and I are regulars (last seven years) here. The food and service are consistent and fantastic. Occasionally, there's a minor issue (missing flatware, something with a spot), but it's always corrected quickly. Mike and his team do a great job of providing a good meal, good service, and an inviting place to grab a bite. Breakfast served all day (worth it), and the sandwiches are great, too. Check out the specials board before you order.
