We came across this place because my daughter LOVES sushi, and we were heading back to the Edmonds ferry from Seattle Children's Hospital, and it was on the way. We were pleasantly surprised by how fresh the sushi was and how friendly the owners were. So, we decided to return there after our next appointment, three weeks later. We walked in, and sat down at a table, then the owner came out and saw us, came over to the table, welcomed us, asked us if we had another appointment, and told us she hoped it went well. She brought us more amazing sushi, very fresh, and remembered what we liked to drink. When we mentioned that we liked kim-chee, she brought us some of her homemade kim-chee to have with our meal, and it was awesome. Overall, we felt very comfortable and welcome in this little restaurant, We were served excellent sushi, well prepared and fresh, as well treated wonderfully by the owners. After living in LA for a number of years and dining at some amazing sushi restaurants, I am very happy to have found this restaurant, and have to say this will definitely become a regular stop for us!

I've lived all over Seattle and this is pretty much my favorite sushi place so far. It's almost shocking that it's in Lake City. Fish is extremely fresh, the menu is easy to order from and has a creative variety of sushi on it. It takes me forever to decide what i want because everything is just so grand! And the price is very very reasonable... even just plan cheap for the quality and the amount of food you're getting. Service is very friendly. I recommend the monkey brain roll, or the young roll. yummmy!!!

Staff is terrible. Place is dirty with a cheap atmosphere. They refused to accept a $25 gift certificate I purchased 45 days before visiting which was supposed to last for a year. Left before food was served. Visit at your own peril.

we went there because have groupon deal. the meal was OK but lack flavor, at the end when we were about to leave my friend ask for a to go box to take the rest of her food home. after she put her food in the food in the box we got our bill and there's a five dollar charge on bill when we asked what was it for the waitress said it's a five dollar charge we charge since we asked for the to go box for a groupon deal. I was like what the hack, we did dine in and there's nothing saying you will get charge for five bucks for getting a take out box. I wouldn't go back again even for normal price for the food not even worth it for the price.

Good Sushi, Good Price. Sumo Sushi has a really casual "no frills" atmosphere with quick and friendly service. The prices are reasonable and the lunch menu is a good value. I've been several times and the place is always clean. Their menu is pretty basic, but the food is always good. I really like that their spicy tuna rolls and spicy chicken teriyaki are actually spicy. Of course their non-spicy counterparts are quite good as well. They also serve a limited selection of bottled beer, wine and saki which are always good after a long day at work.

The service here is SO wonderful. They are just so accomodating and friendly. The fish was also fresh, delicious and all sushi really good. Nice little ambiance too. Nothing fancy, but not divey or too generic either.
