The decor was sparse and kitchen industrial, but the food was really good. We had the fried chicken and catfish. Both were freshly made and VERY hot. We had yams, fries, mac/cheese and green beans for the sides and they were all fresh and delicious. The waitresses were funny and attentive.

I decided to go in this afternoon and use my "Book of Free" coupon to get a cupcake. I had high hopes. The little shop was in a converted house and was nicely painted and decorated outside. I did arrive later in the afternoon and there were only a small handful of cupcakes to choose from, but luckily they still had one Red Velvet left in the case. The owner was very nice and attentive. But when I took my first bite, I was dreadfully disappointed. The cupcake must surely have been 2 or 3 days old. It was dry, stale and chalky. The frosting was crunchy and also tasted rather old. I'm just not sure what happened. But if I hadn't had a large glass of milk to accompany every bite, I'd never have been able to finish. Just be careful. Maybe something else would be better or at least fresher.
