New Zealand - Aurora Australis

So, tonight I was awake all night driving all over Queenstown and southern New Zealand to capture the Aurora Australis - the major solar storm finally hit, and the sky went crazy all night!  I have many more photos to share later today...  so stay tuned... just posting this one before I pass out on the floor.

#QOTD:
"Most animals are horizontal, since
Their homeland is not other than this Earth;
But man's essential stance is vertical;
Free will to choose Salvation proves his worth.

Nobility some animals possess:
The genius of their symbol lives in them.
They can be more than a corrupted man;
Only their possibilities are less.

Be humble when you meet creation, for
An animal may be a sacred door.

More from Italy. Venice is beautiful, but I've found it difficult to photograph for some reason. You'd think there's great shots around every corner, and there are. Still, I found myself never being quite happy with the position of the boats, people, clouds and colors in the sky. I went to some spots over and over again, hoping for the right conditions. I got this one on my last day there. I wasn't planning or waiting for the sun to hit this spot. This wasn't even a "spot" - I was just out for a walk and the sun lined up here. In some locations I took 100s of photos and returned there 3 or 4 times.. The photo I'm sharing here is the only one I took in this location.  Go figure :)
