Decided I'd play with my walk leader's mind this year.  Quebec city in the fall.

Will you be able to spot what I did here? (The clues are fairly apparent btw) ;)

Have a good weekend everyone and enjoy the colors of fall if you can!

I'm not sure I'd pass this interview, depends on the kind and flavor of the donut I guess... ;)

That plus it wasn't either chocolate or coffee so at least we're safe.

Personal challenge results

Last week, to replicate my cousin's assignment, I gave myself a little challenge to see if I could still view in creative fashion.  That challenge was to photograph with the same constraints as I had when I started doing photography, and that she now has in her class. So the challenge rules were the following :

Subject : Circles, Lines, Squares
B&W Jpegs Out of the Camera
Lens : 50mm f1.8, manual focus
No flash allowed
24 consecutive poses, no replay / live view allowed (because it's supposed to be a 35mm film)
Av or full manual mode (to mimic the aperture ring on the lens)
Same ISO for the whole shoot (again to replicate the film)

And I was to come out with 5 shots to present that I liked before wednesday.

I have to say that I'm really happy to have made this.  It really challenged me not to be able to see the result immediately and knowing I usually had only one shot per subject, so I had to get the framing, exposure and focus right on the first shot.

There was one shot that mired while I was trying to compose and focus and it really frustrated me to have "wasted" one shot of my "film".  I may do more of these in the upcoming weeks because I really felt like my photographic view was improving as I neared the end of the challenge by not relying on the camera to see if what I was taking was interesting or not.

Anyways, here are the results of this little personal experiment. :)

Have a good week everyone!

+Alex B, my cousin who lives in Tx, is currently taking a 35mm B&W photography course.  So far so good.  But when she told me her assignment, I figured it would be a fun way to spark my creativity a bit.  So here's how my challenge (to match her assignment) goes...

Subject : Circles, Lines, Squares
B&W Jpegs Out of the Camera
Lens : 50mm f1.8, manual focus
No flash allowed
24 consecutive poses, no replay / live view allowed (because it's supposed to be a 35mm film)
Av or full manual mode
Same ISO for the whole shoot (again to replicate the film)

Assignment to be delivered by Wednesday.
I'll share my top 5 shots on the subject on wednesday, anyone interested in doing the same and re-learn how to see the light and get it right the first time around is welcomed to join me! ;)
