Having grown up in the Bay Area, I'd always heard about the infamous Alice's. I finally got the chance to visit when my boyfriend and I realized we could hike there via Wunderlich Park's Alambique Trail. I'd highly recommend this method, unless you have a motorcycle - Alice's is a big stop for motorcyclists coming through Skyline - or road bike - also a popular road bike stop after climbing Old La Honda. As a side note, the hike through Wunderlich park is about a 3.5 mile beautiful, not to steep trail, followed by a .5 mile walk along a residential street, a quick jaunt across Skyline Rd., and finally (after about 1-1.5 hrs), an arrival at Alice's. Alice's lived up to its hype with its lively atmosphere, local beers, and quality food. Atmosphere: The restaurant is well set-up and has a brewery-like feel to it: A large balcony with ample outdoor picnic bench style seating surrounds the entire restaurant, there's s a small grassy area behind, and its all nestled amidst towering redwoods. Food: My boyfriend ordered the cheeseburger, which I'd highly recommend. I got the California turkey sandwich, which was good, but I think there are better things on the menu. I'd probably get something off the brunch menu (served all day) next time. Beer: We ordered two of the local beers, which were a great accompaniment to the meal and pleasant, sunny day. Overall summary: Go! You won't regret it!

This is a really cool place right in the middle of the woods. The service is great and the atmosphere is really nice too. It's family friendly, with kids running around and an outdoor area for them to play. My meal, a chili burger, was great. They have a good beer selection and live music closer to the bar area.

I love this place. Great memories since 1989 when I first was introduced here on my FZR400. Midweek breakfast rules. Open roads. Hot coffee. Good people.

Good place for friends and family. Nice location nestled in woods at the intersection of highways 35 and 84. The restaurant is cozy and warm, and has nice outdoor seating as well. One can enjoy the lawn at the backside of restaurant while waiting for food. The servers were friendly, and we liked the food quite as well especially the garlic fries, nachos and pesto pasta. Overall, a very nice experience.

Recommend it. Fun and casual restaurant. Crowd can be a little loud, but this is where bikers congregate. Everytime I'm here, I feel like I've stepped into another world, the biker-country-hillbilly world. The best thing about this place is that it exists; not many restaurants nearby and food is edible. Menu is common and food is average. But the place is comfortable and cozy and you can get full.

Awesome atmosphere and a good excuse for a weekend drive. Pretty good burgers and beer. Okay fries.
