WBF CHAMP DIAZ GALLARDO CHEERS UP KIDS IN CANCER CLINIC.

Winning the WBF world middleweight crown in a thriller from defending champion Michel Mothmora last March was a dream come true for Argentina's Diego Diaz Gallardo and made him an instant hero in his home city of Santiago Del Estero.

Now, ahead of his first title defense on September 8,
the champ decided it's time to make true the dreams of children who are going through the hardest times of all.

Diaz Gallardo last week visited the oncological department of the CePSI Eva Perón childrens clinic in Santiago Del Estero and the boys and girls spirits went up sky-high, receive presents and the chance to make photographs with their city's ultimate sports hero.

The WBF world title holder took time to speak with every kid and encouraged every single one in their fight against the too often deadly disease.

The visit came about on the invitation of the Fundación Maria Graciela Maidana (FMGM), a foundation that is dedicated to helping children with cancer and their families.

While at the hospital, Diaz Gallardo revealed that his initial title defense in September will be staged as the headliner of a charity show in favor of the FMGM and the 37-year-old world champion will donate his full purse to the good cause.

Meanwhile, the World Boxing Federation (WBF) is in direct contact with FMGM president Dr. Hebe Renteria De Escontrela, discussing the WBF's support of this great project.

Undefeated World Boxing Federation (WBF) World Heavyweight Champion Erzen Rrustemi (12-0, 10 KOs) was ringside on Friday night when Patrick Kinigamazi won the WBF World Super Featherweight crown by beating Argentina’s Juan Jose Farias in Geneva.

Here he is pictured with WBF Executive Director Olaf Schroeder, and WBF Vice President Jean-Marcel Nartz.

Like Kinigamazi, who was born in Rwanda, Albanian Rrustemi has made Switzerland his second home and is currently residing in Bern. He won the WBF World title last March in Denmark, beating Ricardo Humberto Ramirez by second round knockout.
