In Soviet Russia, TV watches you?

No longer just theoretical, it actually phones home when you change channels.
Earlier this month I discovered that my new LG Smart TV was displaying ads on the Smart landing screen. After some investigation, I found a rather creepy corporate video advertising their data collection practices to potent...

"Star Control" bought by Stardock in the ATARI fire sale.  I couldn't have picked a better company for it to go to.  Can't wait to see what they do with the license. #stardock

Between Cryptozoic's "HEX", Mojang's "Scrolls", Activision Blizzard's "Hearthfire", and even Ubisoft's "Duel of Champions" this year, there is one hell of a land rush going on in the mobile CCG/MMO space.

This genre is likely to replace the MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena)  as the game publisher fad du jour over the next two years.

Brilliant marketing move and pre-emptive strike on piracy of their "game development simulator game".

The comments from pirates re: losing the game via piracy are priceless.

I'm fortunate right now to work in an organization with similar values, but I'd really like to see more people running companies with this mindset.
When people ask Brent Saunders how he became so successful at a young age, he said he often notes his ability to not chase the next job while he's in a job. "I always try to do the best job … Continue...

Suitable Technologies' new telepresence unit is finally coming out next month!

A cool $16k will make you the envy of all your coworkers who have to come to the office (and you know, wear clothes and things).
Beam remote presence system from Suitable Technologies lets you travel instantly and have face-to-face communication, anytime, anywhere.

Hey, you're still on camera.

You at least have to wear a shirt.

Disney's moving fast on their interactive Star Wars licensing and I have to admit I like the direction.

Nimblebit has made some very entertaining light freemium simulation-y games for iOS.  So why NOT Star Wars-ify them?
The Empire needs your help! In collaboration with LucasArts and Tiny Tower creators NimbleBit, Disney Mobile introduces Star Wars™: Tiny Death Star™, a new game for mobile devices. Live life on the...

In case anyone is wondering where the "Steam Trading Card" metagame came from, here is a repost of the first post from Valve's in-house economist.

He hasn't posted about it yet on the Valve Economics blog, but he is almost certainly the principal architect.

I can see why the cast might be excited by the possibility of re-uniting for some new movies.  Looks like they had a lot of fun the first time around.

Knowing GW it will likely either be a $30 game or loaded with IAP, but I can't deny that it's cool they are making it.

That's some pretty serious reviewer love for XCOM.  Lots of emphasis on "maintaining" and "updating" what made the original so great.  Expectations are high.

Want standalone streaming HBO for $12.50 a month?  Move to Scandinavia apparently.  I hope these are the opening shots of a broader trend on its way to our backwater marketplace.

In the meantime, I wonder if I can get it with a pre-paid card and a VPN?
