Medications can be discontinued or on backorder when manufacturers determine newer medications are more profitable, if a manufacturing facility is damaged in a hurricane, or if one of the needed ingredients becomes difficult to source. Our compounding pharmacists can help provide medications that become unavailable due these types of reasons. We can obtain the active pharmaceutical ingredient and compound the needed drug in the most appropriate dose, dosage form, and flavor for each patient – including animals. Contact us if you need an “unavailable” medication!

Hospice and palliative care patients often develop complications such as dysphagia, impaired gastrointestinal absorption, nausea, and vomiting, all of which complicate the ability to take oral medications. These are some of the reasons why transdermal or rectal dosage forms are utilized in the elderly and those receiving end-of-life care. Talk to our compounding pharmacy for more information on how we can help keep your loved ones comfortable.

A recent study suggests that eating cruciferous vegetables, such as Brussels sprouts, can reduce some of the long-term side effects associated with breast cancer treatment, such as early menopause and fatigue. Almost 90 percent of women diagnosed with the disease survive for at least 5 years, and survivors often need relief from problems caused by radiation or chemotherapy that can persist for years. Ask our pharmacist how we can help, and for more information on the study visit https://buff.ly/2DjXgWn
