The HDR looks great!

Picture Perfect

One of the great things about Glass is that the software automatically updates monthly, so Glass gets better every single month without you having to do a thing.

So, with that in mind... here are a couple of highlights from this month’s new hotness on Glass:

1. Better photos on Glass
Today we’re releasing new software for the camera on Glass. It captures a rapid sequence of shots behind the scenes every time you press the camera button which, when combined, gives you a better picture than what you would get with a single shot. So, what does this new software mean for your pictures? Two things: you no longer have to be afraid of the dark; it'll detect low light situations and automatically capture a brighter, sharper picture. It'll also automatically take HDR pictures in bright scenes. Best of all, this software works even in tough situations where there are moving subjects.

It’s these kinds of useful improvements that make pictures on Glass even more magical. Anyway, it doesn’t make sense for you to read about it, right? Right, which is exactly why we’ve put together an album showcasing a ‘with and without’ of our favourite photos. Check them out and let us know what you think. Here's a link to the images in high-res: http://goo.gl/gRtVV

2. Photo captions
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we understand that you may want to add a few. So now, when sharing a photo, you’ll see a message inviting you to add a caption. When you see this, simply tap the touchpad, speak your caption, and voilà! A captioned photo is born.

We’re starting to roll out these new updates now, as well as a number of other small improvements. We hope you enjoy them and look forward to hearing what you think. Until the next month...

Changed these settings two days ago and definitely saw a difference! Glad that new GPS setting was added -- it's normally one of the biggest battery hogs.

In theory, this sounds awesome. Some of Google's biggest challenges, however, will be 1) getting people to adopt Google+, and 2) vetting the "experts" who offer help.

Would you guys use this? How much do you think these experts can charge?

I'm new to Google+ but would like to learn it.  I would definitely benefit from a video course.  Thanks for the post.  ~Keep Having FUN!

There's another e-book coming! I've been furiously working on CNET's next guide, Mastering the Galaxy S4. And, to celebrate the occasion, we're giving away a HUGE prize package for S4 owners. Go get it!!

I pitted Siri against Google Now in a live video to see which one offers the best, fastest, and most accurate results. Both were connected to the same network, and I asked them the same questions at the same time.

So, tell me: Who won this face-off? (Or should I say "voice-off" har har)

Samsung is finally [kind of] acknowledging that 16GB storage on the Galaxy S4 is scant when half of it is eaten by useless bloatware. Sure, there's expandable storage, but -- oh, wait! -- we can't install apps on the SD card.

Here's to hoping 32GB & 64GB versions are released (and that they aren't crazy-expensive.)

Why would S4 owners not use more cloud services to offload their music/photos/docs to cut down storing as much. Thats Apples view- cloud storage it. Does the new S4 mini have the same problem?

It's going to take me a bit to get used to all this jumpy animation, but so far, I'm loving this Google+ refresh. Everything feels so current and inviting. Can't wait to dive into photo features and the new Hangouts.

Anyone discover cool tidbits worth sharing?

Finding it bizzare that Picasa does not have the same editing tools. Trying to get Panorama to work. Lots of the effects look useless in real life. Whats the point of picasa now?
