Is muon updater behaving itself in 14.04? Ever since they moved the menu into the bottom left corner it's been broken in one way or another.

So anyway, I booted into my windows 7 partition today for the first time in six months. With all the pre loading, applications silently updating etc, it took almost 2 hours before I could wrestle the beast under control and have a usable system.

Just thought I'd share that with you.

My favourite Windows thing is all the input blocking/ focus stealing popups you get... Oh joy :-)

Just stumbled upon this post: http://vizzzion.org/blog/2013/11/responsible-evolution/

He talks about different 'drivers' for different use cases; TV, Tablet, etc. But I'm wondering where activities would fit into all of this? As I would have thought that each of those use cases would be treated as a separate activity. Any thoughts people?

Anybody else having problems with muon update manger after upgrading to 13.10? Apart from the less than user friendly ui 'improvements', I have also found that the 'check for updates' button does not work!

Hm, I ran into an issue too where clicking on a deb file doesn't actually install it. It pops up the normal window, but clicking"install" goes nowhere

Could we make some kind of VM activity? So I could say have a 'Windows' or 'Ubuntu' activity I could switch to?

Anybody checked out micropython.org? Basically a python powered arduino. Just copy a python script onto the board and it will run it!

Yeah, I backed it on Kickstarter. I can't wait to get my hands on one - I've done some Arduino hacking, but I'm much more at home in Python than in C.

Having a bit of an issue with Kmail and Gmail at the moment. The 'All Mail' Gmail IMAP folder is still showing emails that I have deleted, although they are 'greyed' out so I can't actually do anything with them? Any suggestions?

I would think the problem is with Gmail then, as the fact you're seeing them still in Kmail shows that they still exist.

Hi Guys, I'm having a problem with cmake on kubuntu 13.04. It is aborting with the following error:

CMake Error: The following variables are used in this project, but they are set to NOTFOUND. Please set them or make sure they are set and tested correctly in the CMake files: QT_QT_INCLUDE_DIR used as include directory in directory /home/david/Development/CMakeFiles/CMakeTmp

CMake Error: Internal CMake error, TryCompile configure of cmake failed

CMake Error at /usr/share/kde4/apps/cmake/modules/FindKDE4Internal.cmake:1297 (message):

Qt compiled without support for -fvisibility=hidden. This will break plugins and linking of some applications. Please fix your Qt installation (try passing --reduce-exports to configure).

Call Stack (most recent call first): /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindKDE4.cmake:95 (find_package) CMakeLists.txt:112 (find_package)

I've googled, but with no joy. I figure that QT might be to blame, as when I installed QT Creator from the repos it installed QT 5 alongide QT 4. I have tried removing QT 5, however I can't seem to resolve this! Any kubuntu devs with an answer? I want to get hacking!

Yes, I'm going to. I think maybe a cradle to grave example on how a patch is submitted might be a good idea. I notice that subversion is mentioned occasionly in the docs, does anyone really use that anymore? If not then again it might be good idea to put up a little warning to say that Git is the supported method now.
