In android news:

Brightest Flashlight Free ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=goldenshorestechnologies.brightestflashlight.free )  - steals your personal data

camara vision nocturna ( possibly pulled from the market already )  - signs you up for a paid messaging service

I'd dump these 2 if you have them.

Best comment on this was: I can just see this as a real argument and one dude standing there yelling "LINKSYS" like Brick from Anchorman.

iPhone Users BEWARE

I recently switched from an iPhone 5 to a Nexus 5. I couldn't be happier with my new Nexus except that I seemingly stopped getting texts from friends and family.

NOTE - *You will need to clear all texts you've sent to me on your iPhone to be able to text me again, so Apple says.

As it turns out, Apple puts some sort of voodoo death grip on your phone number when you tie it to your Apple ID. It took a 45 minute phone call an AT&T tech support and a Apple Tech support to hopefully get my text messages working again.

This is RIDICULOUS! I should be able to switch phones without issue. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get a phone and it's services working again. This is yet another reason why I've jumped the Apple ship and have swam happily over to the Google ship.

If you plan to ever change from an iPhone to any other phone, be prepared to have some work ahead of you.

I mentioned Phonebloks the other day in a post. This seems to be a concept much like it. I think this is a great step in the right direction. After all phones are just tiny computers, and if a component on your computer breaks you replace that component not the whole computer.

Are you interested in Project Ara smartphones, or do you prefer to stick with smartphones as we know them?

I remember reading about this technology a year or so ago. When is it finally going to be used in everyday life! I know a few phones use something like it. I don't know how well it'll work on clothes though. How do you wash off non-liquid stains if your clothes propel water?

oh boy! glasses? no thanks!

"We’ve always said that we’d seek out projects that seem a bit speculative or strange..."
"We’re now testing a smart contact lens that’s built to measure glucose levels in tears using a tiny wireless chip and miniaturized glucose sensor that are embedded between two layers of soft contact lens material. We’re testing prototypes that can generate a reading once per second. We’re also investigating the potential for this to serve as an early warning for the wearer, so we’re exploring integrating tiny LED lights that could light up to indicate that glucose levels have crossed above or below certain thresholds.

It’s still early days for this technology, but we’ve completed multiple clinical research studies which are helping to refine our prototype. We hope this could someday lead to a new way for people with diabetes to manage their disease."
