Cloud storage is great, especially with mobile phones where you may have just 16GB of storage on the actual phone itself. At the Mobile World Congress show in Spain, HTC announced their new “flagship” superphone, the HTC One X. One of the awesome new features of the phone, but kind of overlooked in all the excitement of the announcement of the One X was the phone would come with 25GB of Dropbox storage. Some mischievous Android users found a way to get that storage for non-One X owners, but now Dropbox is locking down on the data “borrowers”.

While Larry Page sees Steve Jobs’ anger with Android as an act put up just for show, the fact remains that Apple has hit Android with a variety of lawsuits in the U.S. and various international markets. Samsung, Motorola and HTC, or the main Android device makers out there, have all been sued by Apple in various courts, and the company has obtained various victories in those patent-based conflicts.

Apple is waging a large-scale war against Android, probably not the kind of thermonuclear war Steve Jobs mentioned when talking about Android in the past, but still a very important one. Apple is suing Samsung, HTC and Motorola in various markets, with a vast majority of existing verdicts, whether temporary or permanent, ruled in favor of the iPhone maker so far.

If you somehow haven’t managed to play Star Wars: The Old Republic yet despite a few free-to-play weekends that were open to any and all SWTOR virgins, you’ll be pleased that you’ll have another chance to play for free this weekend. Yes, Star Wars: The Old Republic is once again free-to-play this weekend, so if you’re curious to see what all of the fuss is about, you’ll be able to do so at no cost.

Those who are old enough (or have been playing video games long enough) to remember the heated rivalry between Nintendo and Sega in the early ’90s will likely get a chuckle out of this bit of news: Sonic the Hedgehog co-creator Hirokazu Yasuhara has taken a job at Nintendo of America.

Instagram, the extremely popular photo app for iPhone that allows users to take stylish retro Polaroid-style photos was released on Android yesterday, and the app had a crazy 24 hours on Google’s open source mobile OS. One day after it’s been out, it’s now being reported that it’s been downloaded a cool 1 million times.

Even though Bungie has left the Halo series behind, it’s pretty obvious that the franchise will continue for years to come. It is Microsoft’s biggest game franchise after all, and it would be quite foolish to think that Microsoft isn’t going to ride the Halo train for as long as it possibly can.

Apple continues to ink deals with more and more U.S. carriers, although T-Mobile is yet to become one of the American iPhone carriers. Apple is already selling at least one iPhone version with AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, three of the four major U.S. mobile operators, but also with a regional carrier, C Spire Wireless.

In addition to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE and the HTC EVO 4G LTE, two Android flagship devices coming to Sprint in the following months, the carrier will also launch a more affordable handset, but still feature-rich, the LG Viper 4G LTE.

The hottest flagship Android handset out there right now seems to be HTC’s One X – or, as Sprint calls it, the HTC EVO 4G LTE. But let’s not forget that Samsung is yet to announce its 2012 flagship Galaxy-branded smartphone, the Galaxy S III, at which point these two Ice Cream Sandwich handsets will fiercely compete against each other, and most importantly, against Apple’s iPhone 4S and upcoming iPhone 5/6.
