SEO guru and music-obsessed at-home chef.
Introduction
I am a project manager for Top Of The List. This includes Organic Search Engine Optimization, Paid Search Advertising, Social Media, Press Releases and much more.

I spend many, many, hours a week just discovering new music. See my musicafterlife blog if you'd like to discover new music too.

I love cooking. Sometimes I play World of Warcraft. Each summer Cedar Point and a week of camping are a must.

I play guitar and sing songs.  I even have one song published on Chill Out: An Acoustic Compilation. I am currently in a band called Over the Line, mainly playing classic rock covers at birthday parties and weddings.

After a long week, sometimes I just like to cuddle up on the couch and watch some tv.

I also like to find ways to decorate my house on a budget. This usually involves fun craft projects and shopping trips to Goodwill.

I am married to the best husband ever, with a cat, a dog, and a baby girl on the way.

I've done a bit of decorative glass painting and would like to do a set of martini glasses and appetizer plates, but I don't know what kind

I have been to this buffet several times, and have also ordered carry-out. I will preface my review by saying that I recently moved to Kalamazoo from Grand Rapids, and have been spoiled by the Ming Ten buffet in Grand Rapids - so I may be a bit biased in my buffet expectations. Overall, the food is pretty good, but nothing special. Here are my typical buffet go-to's, and how I would rate them at Hibachi Sushi Buffet: *Hot and Sour Soup - not amazing, but better than most. Not too thick and has that kick after a few bites without being overly spicy. *Crab Rangoon - again, not amazing, but better than the majority of buffets, simply because this place is almost always busy, so they are fresh, therefore not chewy from sitting out too long. *Sweet and Sour Chicken - exactly what you'd expect - breaded white meat chicken, and the sweet and sour sauce is also the standard that you'd expect. *Broccoli Chicken - not good. Broccoli Chicken has become my favorite chinese dish over the years, but theirs is lacking flavor, and the chicken is just weird. They must either boil or steam it, because it's just limp, lifeless, flavorless chicken. Disappointing. *Broccoli Beef - much better than the broccoli chicken, has more flavor. Texture is hit-or-miss - the longer it sits out, the chewier it gets. *Orange Chicken - awful, awful texture - I think they must over-cook the chicken. After every bite I have to spit a few parts into a napkin that are impossible to chew. *Fried Rice - extremely disappointing. No flavor, rice and vegetables are consistently undercooked. We ordered chicken fried rice for carry-out, thinking maybe it would be better if it were freshly prepared, and unfortunately that was not the case. They seem to use the same cooking method for the chicken as they do for the broccoli chicken, the chicken is actually white. *Noodles - (I have no idea what kind) exactly what you'd expect, satisfies my cravings. The only consistently good chicken dish I have had here is the Honey Chicken - the texture and flavor are both good. However, this dish is not offered on the carry-out menu. The remaining chicken dishes are purely hit-or-miss it seems, they are never consistent. A few dishes to try that are outside of my normal go-to's that stand out here are the pork dumplings and the Kung Pow chicken. They also offer more american dishes than most chinese buffets, I've seen everything from pizza to fried chicken to burritos to potatoes. They aren't incredibly delicious but I would imagine these dishes are nice to have for picky children. The selection of toppings, fruits, and puddings at the salad bar is decent, but the lettuce leaves are ridiculously huge. It's like they pull the entire lettuce leaves off a head of lettuce and don't cut them into smaller pieces at all. Very impractical to eat. Finally, the dessert bar is larger than most chinese buffets, but nothing to write home about. They do have scoop-your-own ice cream instead of the standard soft-serve machine, which is a nice touch, but the flavors are standard vanilla, chocolate, and usually one other option, and aren't quite as creamy and delicious as ice cream should be. Overall, 3 stars is the perfect rating for this buffet. It's so-so. If you are craving chinese food, and want a buffet where you know the food will be fresh and not sitting out too long, this restaurant will satisfy your cravings. It has all the basics, and you will find a few stand-out dishes each time you go. But for me, I am still searching for something better.

Based on reviews, I was expecting bad food and service. I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe you just have to order the right thing, I don't know. I got their "Chicken Charlie," which was a triple decker sandwich with chicken, bacon and swiss cheese. The sandwich was great - better than your average sandwich. And the fries... oh my goodness, their fries are amazing. SO crispy and delicious. I would go back just for the fries. We had a very large party, so I don't think it would be fair to evaluate the speed of service, but our waitress was very friendly, patient, and remembered everything that was asked of her (more water, dipping sauces, etc.). Everyone else in the party of about 20 also enjoyed their food - I heard really good things about their wraps, especially the buffalo chicken wrap, which I will try next time. I would definitely return!

Sue's is the perfect place for a hangover breakfast, a typical "greasy spoon" restaurant with exceptional service. Even during their busiest times, food comes out very quickly. I've never waited for longer than 10 minutes for my meal. Very large portions - they are the only place that puts enough gravy on their biscuits and gravy! Very affordable, and they even have cheap breakfast specials on the weekends. If you are looking for gourmet food, this is obviously not the place to go - but if you are looking for classic American food at a good price, Sue's is a winner!

This is my go-to flower shop in the Grand Rapids area. Geniene is an absolute sweetheart and her passion for putting together bouquets shows in her work. The flowers are fairly priced, and last quite a long time as long as you care for them properly. Geniene also did my wedding party bouquets and boutinierres (brides, please note: they DON'T do table arrangements), and they were absolutely beautiful; she even added some lavender from her garden at home to make them extra-special. I simply can't recommend New Design Floral enough!

I'm not sure why this Big Boy doesn't have better ratings from other guests, but I have visited this location several times and been very satisfied. Food quality was good, value was what you'd expect from Big Boy. Additionally, this is a great location and the restaurant itself has a modern diner feel. Has always been exceptionally clean, and I have always had great service. If you are looking for the real Big Boy experience, you won't be disappointed at this location!
