I must thank this place for such an amazing experience. Driving there is a little bit challenging in the winter if you are not familiar with snow driving. Other than that, everything is perfect. A nice, warm and cozy cabin deep in the mountain; a private and outdoor hot spring; plus your favorite Christmas song watching the snow fall. This is the true winter wonderland that you have been searching for years.

Such an amazing experience. The cabins are great and the hot springs are extremely relaxing and clean. These other peoples "terrible" experiences can be avoided by using a little common sense and reading the terms you agree to when making a reservation. After checking in, its quiet and relaxing.

We stayed during the week leading up to Christmas and found it to be an extremely relaxing vacation, which is exactly what we were going for. A couple specific thoughts below: - In the winter, the hill leading up to the cabins/facility might be a little steep for FWD cars without chains to make easily. Plan ahead, or use different gearing (I had to put my car in 2nd gear to creep up the hill, but as soon as they knew my car had trouble a staff member began sanding the driveway to help). - The kitchens are small and stocked with well-used materials, but it is plenty sufficient for cooking for a small group (just don't expect gourmet). - The cabins are very well heated and sealed, we didn't notice any draftiness or other chills. The wood stove was really nice being prepared to be lit upon our arrival, but unfortunately I wasn't smart enough to build a 2nd fire in it. - The pools are wonderfully relaxing, and the one night we had without clouds provided an amazing star show. - The journal in the cabin was a really nice touch, made it feel much more personal. Overall, I didn't interact with the staff much as we weren't in need of anything and everything worked how we expected it to, which is exactly what I want.

We stayed in the Gamekeepers Cottage at Avalanche Ranch. Great place, quiet and spacious. Hot tub allows for great star gazing.

Extremely disappointed in Avalanche Ranch, and I recently had a horrible experience with them. I was bringing a group of 14 guests from my wedding to the springs that we had a reservation for over Labor Day weekend. There was an issue with my vehicle that we had to take care of as a group, and the whole surrounding area has no cell service so we were not able to call ahead to let them know. We figured we would arrive 45 minutes prior to closing, but because I knew they had a 24 hr cancellation fee, and the session was 1-5pm, we figured a 30 minute soak would be better than none, so we drove 40 minutes out to the ranch and was told that they sold our spots, it was too late to get in, and that my card was charged, and they wouldn't be able to credit my card. The next day I spoke with the manager who said we arrived 10 minutes before closing, which was entirely NOT true, and that they only let 2 people in under our reservation. She also said she wouldn't refund our money even though we arrived within the time slot we paid for. Extremely disappointing in their customer service, and lack of understanding. I would not recommend these hot springs to anyone looking, but 1 mile up the road there are FREE hot springs I would suggest checking out.

The gypsy wagon we stayed in was cute and functional despite its smaller size, and has excellent proximity to the hot springs. The tiered pools are amazing- the perfect blend of modern build with natural feel and an unbeatable view! A wonderful place to stay.
