We stayed during the week leading up to Christmas and found it to be an extremely relaxing vacation, which is exactly what we were going for. A couple specific thoughts below: - In the winter, the hill leading up to the cabins/facility might be a little steep for FWD cars without chains to make easily. Plan ahead, or use different gearing (I had to put my car in 2nd gear to creep up the hill, but as soon as they knew my car had trouble a staff member began sanding the driveway to help). - The kitchens are small and stocked with well-used materials, but it is plenty sufficient for cooking for a small group (just don't expect gourmet). - The cabins are very well heated and sealed, we didn't notice any draftiness or other chills. The wood stove was really nice being prepared to be lit upon our arrival, but unfortunately I wasn't smart enough to build a 2nd fire in it. - The pools are wonderfully relaxing, and the one night we had without clouds provided an amazing star show. - The journal in the cabin was a really nice touch, made it feel much more personal. Overall, I didn't interact with the staff much as we weren't in need of anything and everything worked how we expected it to, which is exactly what I want.

Awesome!!!! This place rocks! Friendly people, clean, fun, lots of room to roam, great place for adults and kids! My sis and I did a little bike tour through the CO Rockies this summer and this was one of our stops, we just wish we had stayed 2 nights instead of one! Next time! We stayed in the stage coach, which was so much fun! We became known as the wagon sisters:) Enjoy!!!

My trip to Avalanche Ranch was absolutely incredible in that I expected it to be fairly rustic and found it to be far more comfortable than I ever anticipated. The staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful with our checking in. The amenities were far better than I hoped. They provided so much in the little Sunflower Cabin where we stayed. The bath products were very nice and welcome. Signature coffee, gourmet teas and coco were in a basket in the kitchen. There was a fully appointed kitchen pantry with pot holders, kitchen towels and even a nice selection of cooking items, dish wear and glass wear. The refrigerator was just the right size. We were able to fix a delicious dinner of steaks that we grilled on the B-B-Q that was just outside our door. The cabin was very comfortable and I slept incredibly well on a Futon while my girlfriend slept on a generous queen bed. The hot pools were exceptional and we used them blissfully many times during our stay. They even provide you with pool towels. This is a destination resort that I hope to visit again. I am a published author and am considering using the Ranch as a possible hideaway backdrop for one of my upcoming novels. It certainly would make an awesome setting for a romantic getaway for one of the couples in my latest book. Good job!!! The entire experience was absolutely awesome and I congratulate the owners for making it that way.

A great family place off the beaten path. Very clean and up to date accommodations. Great vistas. Lots of things to do and see in the area. And did I mention the natural hot springs! Highly recommend this place.

This place feels like a home away from home! You immediately walk into a secluded location with the comfort and recreational opportunities without any crowds or strict timelines. Take a stroll next to the white river, or simply enjoy the comfort of a warm fire in your cabin. Super dog friendly...but you'll be accountable for your dog's behavior...or girlfriend's dog:(
