What a convoluted misrepresentation of what a genuine low-carb diet is all about from a radical vegan! It's not surprising to see Dr. Ornish who has committed his career to the very low-fat diet approach to dismiss and even disparage low-carb. But the headline alone shows just how clueless he is. If he truly wanted to come after the low-carb diet, why not say "The Myth of High-Fat Diets?" Well, maybe he knows the science is showing high-fat diets aren't harmful and so it's a red herring to call it high-protein which no well-formulated low-carb, ketogenic diet is doing. And therein lies the rub with Ornish and his ilk. Get your facts straight and we'll have a discussion. Until then, this is merely propaganda.
A proposed USDA study wants to weigh kids to determine efficacy of diet. WHAT?! This is currently under public discussion, but they want to weigh kids and track their nutrition and other lifestyle issues while in daycare. What do you think about this?
