Founded in 2012, Crux Fermentation Project is located at the epicenter of Bend and at the crucial core of the brewing process. We’ve designed our 11,000-hectolitre brewery to allow for non-traditional brewing methods like decoction mashing, open fermentation, oak barrel aging, wild yeast strains and experimental hops. All our beer is bottled and labeled by hand in small batches right at the brewery. Brewmaster Larry Sidor is always in pursuit of the next great beer, whether by reinterpreting a classic style or abandoning it altogether.

Tasty food and beer in such a cool atmosphere surrounded by the brewing equipment. All of our food choices offered a wonderful array of flavors that satisfied out big group. Avoid the heat of the day as its an open air restaurant that could use a little ventilation!

Crux has to be our top brewery. The beer selection is always great and the flavor profiles are on point. Plus the food is amazing. It's never hard to get my wife to go out for a beer when I suggest Crux.

Fantastic craft beer! Rich bold flavors with great food options, from their own small kitchen, to food trucks parked out back where BBQ and tacos are sold independently.

I have not have an overall good experience here in the 3 or 4 visits I've made here. Today's was the worst and I won't be back. Crux has various places to sit and enjoy the beer, indoors and out. One of the choices is the benches along the outside wall which capitalize on the views (gorgeous) and the sun-warmed wall (wonderful in the cooler months.) If you choose to sit here rather than a table inside or tables in the tented area outside, you need to get your own drinks if you don't want to wait quite a while. This should be fine, but it is always a pain. You stand at the bar, hoping to be noticed, and then are allowed to place your order. The bar servers are busy, but I have been many places where the bar is busy and have gotten good service. I have not yet gotten good (friendly) service at Crux in this situation. I must say, I have gotten good service when seated inside. Today I ordered, the bar server (a consistently surly employee in my experience) rinsed the glasses and left 2-3 tablespoons of water in my wine glass, then poured the wine. When I pointed out the glass had water in it and I would like to have him pour another, water-free glass of wine for me it pissed him off. He was rude and didn't apologize for not noticing there was still water in the glass. He did pour me another glass of wine without rinsing the glass. I bought the wine and one beer and it cost $14, which is on the high side, even for craft beer, even in Bend. I definitely won't be back. There are too many great places to enjoy in this town.

We live here in Bend so we have frequented Crux on numerous occassions. This past visit on 8/28 we took our company to Crux who were visiting here from Seattle. They had heard so much about Crux that they wanted to try it out. We arrived about 2 pm in the afternoon, early enough to beat the Friday afternoon/ evening rush. We were seated outside where the waiter took our drink order. The beers came in a timely fashion, along with the quesadilla for the kids. Soon after we ordered another quesadilla for the kids and sandwiches for the adults. While we were waiting for our order to arrive we ordered tacos from the taco truck for appetizers. When our lunch order still hadn't arrived we ordered more tacos while we waited for our sandwiches. The kids quesadilla still hadn't arrived. We had four kids six and under with us and they were starving. 45 minutes lates their quesadilla arrived. Meanwhile we ordered more tacos from the taco truck while we waited for our lunch order to arrive. By this time we had checked with our waiter 3 times to make sure he had placed our order. Each time we were assured our order would be out shortly. Finally, we called the waiter over and told him we couldn't wait any longer, we needed to leave. He apologized for the poor service and said he would bring us our sandwiches to go, at no charge. So we waited some more, and no sandwiches. We told our waiter we needed to leave, and he apologized some more and said he would take some beers off the tab since we never got our lunch in a timely matter, and that he would bring us our sandwiches to go. The sandwiches never came, as we were in the parking lot they delivered one sandwich to us (not even the full order). We were very disappointed in the service that day and certainly will not be taking any company there in the future.

Seriously the best beer. Better Red than Dead and Banished Double Cross were phenomenal. The space was definitely a brewery. The quality of the beer more than made up for the industrial setting. Incredible beer

Atmosphere, stellar style, gourmet menu or casual tacos outside on the patio, a large lawn for kids dogs and grown ups to "frolic" on nice days.. what more could you ask for? Oh not to mention they have great tasting beer! haha.... Uniquely named orginals like [Banished] Freakcake and Dark Strong Cherry Bomb... or try the Double Cross or Outcast for somethign lighter. From the lawn you can see the mountains on a clear day. I love the big pretzels and/or the jalepeno dip with pita bread. This is one of my favorite places in Bend... I take family and friends here every time they visit. It makes me proud to be a Bendite.

20 odd taps. Tons of tables. Great beer. Two toilets. That math doesn't add up!
