this shit is too high maintenance but a good distraction from the studying i would otherwise be doing. no, who am i kidding? i'd be watching stupid shows and waiting for pizza delivery. can't wait til tomorrow evening.

haha! burning an oil field. yes. good analogy.

yes of course i know flying is the anti-sustainability. that wasn't the point of the post. it's not the point of my blog in general... to be rational :) what sparked that post was my shock over the amount of crap they gave me for one cup of tea. multiply that amount of garbage, times all the people on the plane and oh. my. god. stop the madness.

yes, it's only one infinitesimal part of the whole problem but it IS a part of the problem we can opt out of (as you point out). needless to say, i don't plan on ordering tea on that airline again. lesson learned. (btw, i kept the superfluous "waste bag" and used it later to bring home some wet items in my purse. i still have the bag.)

also, i LOVE taking trains. but unfortunately, there is no train from Ireland to anywhere else in the world. overnight ferries to the mainland are kinda awesome tho.
