I am researching Duck. Womack, Vinson, McKelvey and other names in this family tree. I have many of them in Dadeville. This isn't my family, but one of someone I am very interested in. Haven't worked on it in ages. Might go back and peck around some more :)  Thanks for the invite.

Not one of your pertinent ancestors was squashed, devoured, drowned, starved, stranded, stuck fast, untimely wounded, or otherwise deflected from its life's quest of delivering a tiny charge of genetic material to the right partner at the right moment in order to perpetuate the only possible sequence of hereditary combinations that could result -- eventually, astoundingly, and all too briefly -- in you.

Rather excited to learn that my ancestors hail from Madison County, Iowa where the famous Bridges of Madison County are! Can't wait to one day go there.

Dear friends and colleagues,

Genea business has been slow for me, so I am in need of help. We are trying to send our daughter Natalie to Cal Poly's EPIC summer camp. It is a week long engineering camp that our daughter was just accepted into last week. We have until May 20th to come up with $1400. I am hoping you will consider a donation, no matter how small. If you are unable to help financially, please consider at least sharing the word with others for me.

Thank you for your time and consideration. This is a wonderful opportunity for my daughter, and I really don't want her to miss out on it.

I was working on my grandmother's second husband who was born in Wyoming in 1939 and then working back through his family, as well as collaterally. I don't remember the specific search I was doing at the time of my GGRR!! moment but I know that I had a brother's info typed in, started with very specific information and then tried to work backward with less info to broaden my search. I had a place that I wanted to search specifically but results for everywhere but where I was looking came up. I slid the slider hoping to reign in the results, even if it told me I was out of luck, but that changed nothing in the way the results came back. Place was wrong, names were wrong, etc. I tried to go back in to edit the info I had but the particular record set I was working in wouldn't let me change the place. It was frustrating.

I like change that is effective. For me, the new changes are not. I have given input from a professional's point of view on things that would be helpful (like being able to make notes on things we save to the shoebox so we remember exactly why we saved them in the first place), but I know I must be one of so many to do so.

Have your Guild members shared the reasons why they don't like the new search?

Introduction

I am a professional genealogist who has been doing  in depth family research since 1999. I am a ProGen 13 alumnus and am working to earn a certificate in American genealogy from the National Genealogical Society. When I am finished with this, I hope to eventually take the American Studies Certificate Program at The National Institute for Genealogical Studies with electives focusing on Scotland, Ireland, Scandinavia, Poland, and Germany.

I belong to various organizations in order to expand my knowledge and my resources, and I also do volunteer work for a few other organizations. I follow the BCG Standards and am constantly working to better my knowledge and research skills to provide you with the best genealogical information possible.

In addition to genealogical research, I also do editing and can help you with your family history project. Email me with the specifics of your project, and I will give you a quote.
