Lockwood Tax Services
4217 Tidwell Rd # A3, Houston, TX 77093
I have used Lockwood Tax Service for about three years now. I am completely satisfied with the level of service and received the largest refund ever with them finding all the legal deductions. Old Fred is really a master at what he does and goes behind each preparer to make sure his customers are getting the best deal. Some people still expect him to do each return, but after growing to this point, he has way too many customers and everyone would be waiting forever. Still I like that he checks behind each assistant.
It takes a while to get a return call. But eventually you do. Other than that I am totally satisfied.
Quality Excellent

Some managers operate as if their employees are robots. They say,  “Stop your whining.  Suppress your emotions and get the job done.”

I observed an argument raging between two people on another social network I’m on. The young Tea Party guy was appalled by the idea of continuing to help these deadbeats who won't get out and find a job. He mostly visualized the world as being overrun by welfare mothers having babies and crackheads looking for a handout to support their drug habit.

I didn't get involved because I felt logic and ...proof had no place in the discussion. There were only fiery emotions blazing back and forth. The presentation of proof works only when people are open to the truth.

Maybe, 10 years ago I watched a conservative US Congressman stand on the House floor and say global warming was a liberal conspiracy by Al Gore and other big government advocates. He had the facts in front of him, the rising global temperatures and melting ice caps and particle concentrations. But this truth did not match his own core values and long held beliefs. Thus, he brushed the hard evidence aside to preach the conspiracy gospel with which he was most comfortable.

Back to the argument. The Tea Party guy didn't like the idea of bailing out the big companies either, but felt in emergencies, it was necessary for the greater good. Now, a bailout is a soft, polished-up, innocuous name for corporate welfare ... like the Republican’s name for the rich and privileged ... job creators. What he was really saying is, it's okay to give to big corporations in a time of need, like when industry greed has created a savings & loan meltdown or toxic derivative and credit default swaps have pushed the world to brink of disaster. But individuals, families, children are on their own. The 80% should not get any help because the 20% is abusing the system.

Now that the lavish company weekend retreats and big bonuses raked off the top of federal bailout money by corporate executives have been revealed, shouldn't the Tea Party guy want to stop that government welfare too? Of course not. These crooks are wearing white shirts and have big titles behind their names. They may be “misappropriating”, but the welfare mom is really the one that’s “stealing”. That’s how he feels. And no amount of corporate malfeasance data or Bernie Madoff confessions is going to change his mind.

My grandmother used to say, “Don’t argue with a fool.”
