I've been practicing avoiding advertisements and many kinds of media for a few years now. Sometimes I lapse though. Appreciating this reminder from my favorite Buddhist monk in the Austin area. http://bhikkhucintita.wordpress.com/2014/08/20/unplugging-yourself-from-media-for-the-masses/
This adjustment to your life style may produce more benefit than any other aspect of a Buddhist life, for instance, more than an intensive daily meditation practice. Though little mentioned in the ...

#talkpay is exciting. Be careful posting your current salary though as your next employer could use it against you in negotiations.

Whoa, `--find-renames` on `git diff` or `git show` can really clean up a diff!

I really like this article!

Something I’ve been doing, in addition to trying to practice more generous actions, is trying to just put more generous intention into the same actions. A few examples:

– When saying “good morning” to a coworker, try to really mean it and be wishing them well rather than viewing it as an obligatory greeting
– When buying a friend’s lunch because they forgot to bring cash, tell them they can get me next time (for their pride’s sake), but make it a gift to them in my heart
– When eating a favorite pastry, if unsuccessful at averting the indulgence, try to cultivate a sense of giving to myself that’s greater than the sense of succumbing to a craving

The whole experience was fun and fascinating, a real treat. Getting up before sunrise with family and friends (you can go in the evening if you prefer). Watching them set up the balloon (surprisingly awesome to watch!) Climbing into a basket with 9 other people. Going up in the sky and taking in Nashville from great heights. Learning about ballooning from a very knowledgeable pilot like Logan. The jokes and fun and interesting stories with Logan and Tina both. We all had a wonderful time, and I highly recommend it!
