Today we go in for another CT scan to see how Chad is handling the chemo and whether or not the cancer is responding. We'll get the results tomorrow. Weeeee!

Chemo Day went well yesterday and Chad seems to be handling it well. He's only having issues with fatigue and light-headedness.

Tomorrow we go to get the pump removed. It'll be a good day.

I got the most amazing knitting book over the weekend. I may finally be brave enough to knit a sweater as opposed to just lace.

I actually had that as my desktop at work a couple weeks ago. That cat looks identical to my Gojira. :) It does cheer me up. Another good option is http://kittehroulette.com/ where you can just keep hitting NEXT KITTEH!

When the surgeon first came out to tell me Chad had cancer, he told me Chad probably wouldn’t live two months. This is because of the bad shape he was in going into the hospital. Once he was out of the hospital they told us that if he started and continued with chemo, the probable timeframe was 9 months. Well, all of this was back in March. Here it is July and he is going strong.

Last week Chad had the end of his 4th round of chemo treatments and things are going well. Each round is a month long and at this last meeting his oncologist began talking about how, in another couple of months, he will get to take a vacation from chemo because he is doing so good. We have tweaked the medicines he takes each day and have gotten better at managing his nausea and other side effects of the cancer/chemo. He has even gained back a little over 10 pounds from his lowest weight. Overall he is doing great and as you can probably tell from the photos, he is feeling much better than he was.

I’ll try to get some more updates posted when we know more.

I had sooooo much fun at the Gathering of the Guilds this weekend. Next weekend is the Craftsy Wonderland.

Oh summer, how I love thee.

Watched my little brother get his B.S. diploma yesterday from UO. I'm so freaking proud of him and a little freaked about how much he is growing up.

To be honest, I have been going to a Thursday night knitting group with these ladies before they opened the store. I was standing and waiting for them to open on their opening day and was their first customer. That being said, I have been to other knitting shops in the PDX area and while I like some of them, this is my knitting shop and will stay that way. With a large selection of yarns, some high end, some lower end, and a giant seating area upstairs for people to sit and knit, it is my home away from home. Both open and welcoming, everyone is friendly and genuinely wants to help. Our knitting group has turned me from being someone who only knit scarves and blankets to someone who is willing to try anything, including socks. I love that my enthusiasm and joy of knitting is shared by everyone there and I look forward to Thursday more than I do my weekends. Whether you are a beginning knitter or someone who loves more advanced patterns, you can always find help and companionship, or just a place to get away from it all.
