Was not impressed with the food or the service. It was organic, but I felt it was overpriced. We went with a large group and most of the people in the group did not like their food or finish what they ordered. So glad to see more organic and gluten free options, but just wouldn't recommend this one. Also- they don't accept credit cards...

Went here because of the open mic night. The host was late, showed up stoned, and then didn't call me up to pick out a slot. Not a very nice way to treat musicians from out of town. The only thing that kept this from being a one star experience is that the atmosphere is cool, and hippy, and the food was very good. Also, they don't accept credit cards but do have an ATM on site.

I go to the poetry slams often, but tonight we came for dinner. The moment we walked in the door our server greeted us with a poor attitude. I was introducing someone to this place i had grown to love only to have their most rude and appalling server ruin the entire experience. First, I received dirty silverware. The butter that came with the bread was half spreadable and warm and the other half was cold and not spreadable... I dig the whole concept of sustainable living, but I don't pay to eat somewhere for someone else's left overs. We started with quinoa and bean dish. When she brought it over, the presentation shocked me as I've had this before. The beans looked carved off of a loaf then microwaved, and the salsa was MIA. This 4 dollar dish ALWAYS has three items. I had to ask repeatedly for the salsa as it's tasteless without and the last time I asked I had to get up out of my seat to be able to speak with our server. I also had to go retrieve a pitcher of water when I saw our waitress look at our empty glasses and walk away to do other things more than once. She bussed other tables but allowed our plates to pile up. I have been in the service industry for over a decade and I know and live by the idea that you earn your tips. If I choose to spend my money where you work, you serve me an experience not just plates of food. We paid our bill and left no tip. I wrote the reason for this on the actual ticket hoping someone who might care about that business would see it. I won't be back and I plan to tell all my friends how terrible this evening was that we spent at the mercury cafe anytime I hear it brought up or suggested as a potential plan.

I don't go out to eat in general.. food is ok actually. Service is so/so; but generally I get lousy service wherever i go in Denver though.. whereas i tend to get excellent service in the east coast where im from.

Mercury Cafe is awesome! Loved the fresh food. The menu is very detailed and there is something for everyone! Locally sourced when possible. Met by a lady with a huge smile and made us feel welcome. Server was very helpful and friendly and was fantastic. We will be back!

Worst experience I've ever had at a restraunt. Don't get me wrong.. The food was delicious, a bit overpriced, but what can you expect when it's local/organic food? But I told them I was HIGHLY intolerant to gluten and they claimed that all their foods besides anything that had buns was free of gluten. Well, apparently not because I was sick before even walking out the door. But the main problem I had more than anything was with how.. unwelcoming and rude their staff was. The tables around us (all looked like they just got out of church or something) seemed to be getting descent service while we (metalheads with tattoos, long hair, black clothes, etc) got the shitty end of the stick. I'm not saying it had anything to do with the way we looked, but it sure seemed like it when we were the only ones out of the tables around us that received quite AWFUL service. Definitely do not advise going to this place, especially when there are a ton of other great restraunts with local, organic, and gluten-free food that is a much better environment.
