"You do not have any player in the singles whose ranking is within the top 100. If you have such singles player then you will be assured of winning both the singles matches in the Davis Cup and then you need to prepare for the doubles. Otherwise, we should not see the dream qualifying for the World Group."

"It was a learning experience for the boys. I mean Ramkumar played really well on the first day, Saketh Myneni played as well as he was allowed to play, against David Ferrer, but it was a complete mismatch,"

"Doubles was very competitive, we should have won that second set and gone two sets to love which would have made it very interesting. Both Leander and Saket played great, and we were very unlucky to lose that."

“Playing New Zealand in India is a good draw. Even without Yuki (Bhambri) and Somdev (Devvarman), our players are ranked much higher than theirs. Doubles, their strength, will only get them one point, potentially. So, I’m not really worried. Again, facing Uzbekistan here is a good proposition, but Korea away are a different beast. Don’t be fooled by the scoreline — their B-team was a handful for us in July. I’d rather we don’t play them,”

“It’s good for us that we are playing at home. Let’s hope that Yuki Bhambri and Somdev Devvarman get back to playing in the side. It’s still a few months away. I will discuss with AITA about the surface and venue soon,”

"These boys, except Leander (Paes) do not have the strength in their legs. You must need personal trainer to enhance your physical strength as well as you need to take part in as many as tournaments throughout the year. Otherwise it will be difficult for them to gain the needed physical strength."
