Nekropsy is a DM band hailing from Chicago, Illinois. Nekropsy came into existence in April of 2007. A band that focuses on the true nature of human existence and the daily oppression from societal rules and regulations. There is no talk of dragons and fantasy, simply a recognition of the degeneration of society. The aim of Nekropsy now and forever is to make intense, focused, and unrelenting music that not only is rooted in Metal, but breaks awa...

Nekropsy is a drum machine project and proud of it- check out the recent statement by Dino of Fear Factory
Trivia Question: Which songs did we use a drum machine on our classic cd Demanufacture ?

I find it very interesting that we got some backlash from some people for using a Drum Program on our latest cd The Industrialist but not on Mechanize or past cd's ? Mechanize had drum programing all over it !!! (read cd credits)
It should be no surprise to people that we've used Drum programs, Drum Machines many different computer programs, samplers , whatever new software that came out that week , just musical technology in general, to create music and manipulate or music ,its been a part of FF's DNA since day 1.

Im surprised and don't understand Why people are complaining like its something new in the recording industry? or in life !

Why do other bands hide what they use in the studio ? Maybe cause they are afraid that the average fan is not going to understand ! Maybe its our fault as musicians that people are misinformed ? Maybe some people just don't wanna know as long as the cd sounds good. Does all this really matter ? Who knows what people want ?

So why are we getting shit for it now ? is it cause we are honest about it ?

Wether people like it or not its a common thing in the studio ,in your bed room, on the tour bus at Starbucks in school etc... people are writing music every where on there laptops ,on there smartphones and iPads . Its made creating music easier and more cost sufficient ,inexpensive etc...I'm just surprised that i feel the need to even say this .

Fear Factory are a INDUSTRIAL METAL BAND we embrace the technology its what we sing about. How technology and man have a love/hate relationship.

Maybe people don't read the information or credits on the cd's anymore? whats a cd ? "OBSOLETE"

We've always been honest about the technology that we used on every drummer we've had cause no drummer is tighter then the machine !! Even drummers who call themselves The Machine.
I know some people like the illusion that a drummer actually played on the cd . Some record company executives like for there to be a photo of a drummer on the cd packaging even though it was recorded by a hired studio musician or a drum program ,cause they are afraid that people are not going to buy the bands music if they new the truth!

Metal In the past 20 or more years ,no one has put out a cd where the drummer hasn't been edited to some degree or just the whole recording in general ,meaning using a drum editing program to move every hit to make it sound perfect or in some cases make it sound more imperfect or more perfectly human like . Years ago people were cutting tape to edit a drum hit to put it in the right spot.

The Irony of it all is that the same person who's complaining about us using this technology is the same person who used it to download the cd for free lol...

Our job since day one is to put out the best quality production we possibly can ,any way we can at all cost !

Some people fear change but if you fear change you are never going to move forward . In order to make anything a reality you have to dream about it first !
