Me & Strata just went for a swim.

Strata is constructed to meet a 5 ATM water resistance specification. In practical terms 5 ATM is the minimum water resistance spec your watch should meet if you want to swim with it. If your watch is 3 ATM or less.....steer clear of the H2O!

+Joakim Andersson It's still a good, working Meta Watch! I remember the photo....the difference is I didn't swim with that 3 ATM stainless watch ('swim' as in doing laps); I dropped it in the pool and took a picture of it.

Swimming laps creates considerably more ballistic force (particularly on the button chambers when your hand enters the water) than a casual drop in the pool. So, if your watch is 3 ATM and you fall into the pool; that shouldn't be an issue. But, I would strongly advise against swimming laps with it.

+Scott Dier yes.....we will continue selling the stainless steel models.

+Alex Smirnoff regarding higher res displays: short term, no....longer term yes. No changes were made to the top light (our display is fully reflective so, a backlight isn't feasible).

I saw this yesterday and today and immediately thought of you and Metawatch. I haven't yet read about it in detail, work keeps getting in the way, but I have to fall back on my previous thoughts on it.

If this will be a connected display for a smartphone or tablet, an accessory, then it will be amazing. Everything we've seen thus far points to the possibility of Google making the glasses the device, however, and I just can't see anyone paying four to five hundred dollars for a fourth screen (TVs don't count anymore) with such a limited application. Would you be wearing them while on the computer/tablet/phone? Of course not, that's what you're on the computer/tablet/phone for.

Google should take a look at what you're doing, though I think I would prefer your version in the end.

I've been planning on building an android app that would let you use your watch as a remote viewfinder for your phone's camera (possibly with some sort of edge detection algorithm to make it clearer to see what's going on), but that's much cooler :)

MetaWatch Theme: Torin

This is the theme you've been seeing in my latest MetaWatch pictures/posts.  Figured I'd finish it up and share with everyone since it was a big hit.

Note: Center fancy awesome clock not included, that is a special case.  Also you need MWM Community Edition from market and MetaWatch to use this (of coz)

Story
Tagline
I'm a dad, a swimmer, and a Meta Watch guy.
Introduction
Married, father to two great sons. I'm also a life-long swimmer. Chlorine addictions are hard to break.

Shortly after college I discovered a knack for developing things & businesses. My first venture targeted the AS/400 market and was subsequently acquired by Lanoptics.

My next venture created the first performance monitors / watches for swimmers. These were sold worldwide under the Speedo brand.

Since then I've been focusing on opportunities for watches to function as simple & relevant mobile interface devices.
Bragging rights
I swam 20,000 yards one day & lived to tell about it.
