Tomorrow morning marks the first semi-public informational meeting/ presentation regarding Project Audience. This $570,000 pilot project/ SOCal based grant is being administrated by LA Stage Alliance peeps +Terence McFarland
and +Douglas Clayton
, as well as Project Audience Program Director +Susan Chun
They have a fairly inactive Ning network here http://projectaudience.ning.com/
and Terence is the most active on g+...
My goal is to ensure that the Project Audience initiative has good, solid infrastructure to allow for multiple sites to utilize the info shared. I also want to push for thinking about how smaller arts orgs and individual performers/ producers can utilize Project Audience as a means of direct appeal marketing.
My concerns are that we may wind up with a half million dollar boondoggle. This would be horrible- especially considering whatever we wind up with here in Southern California will most likely be a roadmap/ preliminary coding for a national site.
What do YOU want from a list serve? How can it help you to reach your audience, and be more than JUST a calendar listing? Take a look at this calendar listing from ExperienceLA: http://www.experiencela.com/calendar/event/43879
because this is what the team has so far.
Right away, I see a need for easy social media shares. This Event Listing allows for emailing, but not easy posts to tw or fbook. Chime in here! I'll share more after tomorrow's meeting.
