I had an interesting conversation with some people about what it was women wanted. The question was: "True or False? Women are wired to desire protection & security which is why they're more attracted to guys with ambition." Here is my response:
I admire a man who has not just ambition, but integrity, initiative and unafraid of having some feelings. Macho-men are a turn off, to my personal taste. I rather have a man w/ a pocket protector who is going somewhere and goes the extra mile than Rico Suave who's lazy and only does "just enough".
The one person I know, who changed my life and the way I view men and what's important...has no real "self confidence". To me, what is just admirable and frankly attractive about him was his passion and commitment for God, and the confidence he had in Him, and that without Him, he wouldn't be much. To me, i rather have that, than all the confidence in the world, or all the papi chulos (a spanish term for "macho man") with good looks, fancy cars, nice clothes and money.
Honestly, that is my heart. I want a man with confidence in God, not so much himself. A man who is takes initiative, is not satisfied with a "just so" life, but wants more for himself, a man with a integrity. Above all, a man who loves God and wants to fulfill the calling of God in his life. This is why I remain single, and I'm so picky. There are only a few, very very very few, men I know who have these key characteristics. Which is why they are all married. Their wives were smart. Only one man I know fits this criteria. And I know God has a special woman for him. And I also know, it's not me. And I'm ok with that. :)
