There are two red alerts for fossil fuel expansions out now - one with http://frontlineaction.org/ as they are bulldozing more of the precious Leard State Forest for a coal mine expansion and at the Pilliga Push, Leewood site where Santos wants to drill 850 fracking wells. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.1634435523485250&type=1

We have just two choices, either to keep fighting or to give up because it's all too hard. If you are on this page I presume you will keep fighting. Non Violent Direct Action with 350.org is what keeps me going. I am happy to risk myself in the hope of saving a species of insect or reptile by my efforts. A rabbit or rat would be a bonus. You never know, David Suzuki is a wise old bloke and he still has a skerrick of hope for our future.

Hello, friends and foes of FLAC - Here's my tribute to our campaign using some photos I took, a few that I filched from friends and some aninimated protectors to try and convey the way I feel about the honest tenacity of the team members of Front Line Action on Coal. If you're a foe of FLAC... just remember that we will not give up, because the future of every large life-form on the planet is at risk from anthropogenic climate change.
Thanks to 10th Man for the music - badly recorded by me at FLAC's second birthday party. Find more about them at -

Dear Premier Baird,
I am a woman over fifty who lives in the marginal seat of Eden Monaro, NSW. I will be casting my vote and actively campaigning at the next election, against the corrupt and undemocratic issuing of licences to Coal and Coal Seam Gas Companies like Santos, AGL and Whitehaven.

The IPCC and our top scientists have told us that we must keep most of our fossil fuel in the ground. The way that these dubious approvals have been made has been made clear to the public through ICAC investigations. I swear that I will not stop campaigning against any politicians who support new coal mines like Whitehaven's Maules Creek Mine and any fracked Coal Seam Gas in NSW. Coal Seam Gas production is very dangerous in the Pilliga because it is likely to affect the water of the Great Artesian Basin and in Gloucester it will affect the river system which supplies so many towns downstream. It is also very unwise to place CSG drilling rigs in the vicinity of houses as you have allowed in Camden and Gloucester. The main problem with Coal Seam Gas is the leakage of Methane and other toxic gas.

Coal and Coal Seam Gas are found on our very best most productive soils - our prime farmland. Are you an Anthropogenic Climate Change Denier? Do you take the advice of scientists? Are you frightened of the Green Tide which Mark Vaile believes will wash his ambitions away? The Green Tide are simply people who listen to scientific advice and wish to have a future for their descendants. I respect the views of our top scientists and I believe that our planet, our country and our state are in dire danger, as do many of my friends. We will not stop fighting for the future of our species against actions that are ill thought out and motivated merely by greed.

You can not be doing this for the good of the State or the good of our Country, so who are you doing it for? Even if we rein back our fossil fuel production and usage by almost 100% within the next few years, as we should be quite capable of doing if we make a concerted community effort towards renewables, our temperatures are still going to rise. What happens to the food production of Australia with these elevated temperatures if you have allowed the corporate miners to ruin our water supplies? If you are at all intelligent, you will disassociate yourself from the clowns currently in Federal Parliament and consider the future. You want scientific evidence of the danger of fracked CSG? Well, please read the new Australian peer reviewed report on leakage from CSG fracking in Queensland.

Yours sincerely,
A. M. Schneider
