Go-to for morning cuppas in the front cafe & imaginative American fare in the sleek dining room.- Google
"My omelet was perfectly seasoned and spicy enough for me."

Very good dining, but somewhat overpriced. For example: $3.50 for a fountain drink (at least it's refillable)... I understand that the vast majority of restaurant profits come from beverages, but come on man; that's a joke! If "money is no object" for you this is a really excellent place to eat. The food tastes great. However, until the day comes that I can bring my own sparkling water or soda into City Cafe (not likely), I'm never coming back. :) There are plenty of other options in the area where you don't get (figuratively) punched in the wallet for wanting something more than water to drink.

Alright, this place had hipster written over it and I was prepared to hate it. But it was fantastic. I have been there about three times now, the last time for a New Year's Day Brunch, and each time is better than the last. Their drinks are always on point, and you get the bang for your buck, and the food is always delicious. I had a breakfast burrito for New Year's and I am still dreaming about that gorgeous, yummy meal. French Press coffee was served perfectly, and the mimosas where strong! The space is airy and light, with servers always just the nicest people. Parking can be a pain, because you know 'CITY', but it's worth it, I promise you. Great food, made in a great way, in a great location! Yay City Cafe!

Interesting menu but the food was pricey and underwhelming. My party had the Baltimore club, seafood risotto, and the lobster mac and cheese. The Baltimore club was boring. It was a crab patty, shrimp, lettuce, and tomato. I couldn't taste any sauce or even mayo. The seafood risotto was bland. Nothing special. The lobster mac and cheese was a big disappointment. It was salty, it tasted strange, and there was an after-taste that kept me from taking a second bite. The service was really good and the atmosphere was nice also.

Ever since Chad Gauss came in as the new chef, this place has produced fantastic food. It's quite a bit more expensive than the "old" City Cafe, but it is worth every penny. Add to this the relatively recent renovation, the atmosphere is now more inline with fine dining as well. Service is great as well. Highly recommended to all my friends!

Owner was cited in the Baltimore Sun as being strongly opposed to health and safety grades for restaurants in Baltimore. As a frequent restauranteur, such public opposition is suspicious and does a great disservice to anyone who is interested in dining at this establishment. I will never be a customer of someone who opposes something that is in the best interest of the consumer.

Hat's off to City Café! We had a family dinner last night on the upper level and it was fantastic. The server, Julia, was awesome. She was warm, friendly, professional, attentive and made our dinner spectacular! The whole family raved about the food. The hardest thing about the evening was choosing wish dish to order. It all sounded so good and each dish was as good as it sounded - an then some. The manager, Rachel, did a great job with the planning. Thank you to Rachel for putting the evening together. Overall, a great time was had by all.

I was there this morning (okay, afternoon...) with my boyfriend and we had a wonderful breakfast. The food and service were top notch. We were on our way to an event and already had our Halloween costumes on, so we were a little worried that we'd be turned away or given strange looks. But what a silly idea that was - pretty much the entire staff was in full-on zombie costume & makeup! Much to our delight. It was quite fun being waited on by the undead while listening to their special, spooky playlist. Even without the amped-up Halloween experience, I would have given City Cafe 5 stars just for the food. I got the spicy shrimp & sausage omelet with grits, and my boyfriend got the chimichurri steak & eggs & potatoes breakfast. My omelet was perfectly seasoned and spicy enough for me. I'm usually asking for the hot sauce at other places. SO's steak was tender and cooked to order. This place makes me wish I lived in B-more.

I've been coming to city cafe since I was a child, with my parents and I absolutely love It. It's gotten so much better over the years, always a wonderful staff who makes me feel so warm and welcome,as well I am always happy to recommend this place to friends from out of town.
