Tonight!

Kyle Hilla will talk about storyboarding and using the auto layout constraints-based system for laying out user interface elements in iOS.

Kyle is the founder and CEO of Apptopus, Inc. and is best known for creating CollabraCam, an on-the-fly multi-device video production app for iOS.

Also at tonight's meeting, Universal Mind is bringing their Webby Award-winning iPad Table for us to play with.

Stick around after the meeting to join the GRMakers for even more interesting projects.Tonight, Kyle Hilla's Storyboarding talk, you'll also be able to see Universal Mind's Webby-Award-winning iPad Table.

We will not have food tonight, so make sure you pick up something on the way over.

This is probably our last meeting at Casey's Warehouse as the GRMakers move into their new facility. So make sure you double-check the location for next month's meeting (once it's scheduled).

Join us  tonight from 6PM-8PM at The Warehouse in Jenison for a Grand Rapids Mobile Development Group meeting:

Neil Shaffer will demonstrate the Google Play Developer Console, which is what you use to publish apps to Google Play.

Ben DeMott will talk about Kivy, a burgeoning cross-platform (Linux, OSX, Windows, Android, and iOS) multi-touch Python framework.

Shane Sievers will lead a discussion about Touchcode's magical printed paper to mobile technology.

+Tim Bugai  will be presenting "RubyMotion: All the cool kids are doing it"

+Mel Bugai  will talking about the possibility of starting up a mobile device testing lab.

+Jeff Wilcox  will be talking about his exprience with Windows Phone, the Windows Phone marketplace, the ingestion process, and building apps that MS likes to promote (features, etc.).


A little more about our speakers:

+Tim Bugai  began programming at the young age of 8 on an Apple IIgs and has been expanding his repertoire ever since. Currently he’s helping our team with Ruby, Javascript and iOS. His strong background in agile software development gives him a focus and expertise that help him craft brilliant test-driven code. He co-founded Booker with his wife Melissa, which was a team selected for Momentum’s pre-seed program. He continues to help it grow to take over the world. When not coding, Tim is involved in the West Michigan tech scene, and you’ll often find him at GRWebDev, SoftwareGR, and BarCampevents.

+Mel Bugai  is a user experience focused, exploratory testing empowered, agilist. She's also an outdoor enthusiast, motorcyclist, skier, and recent mommy-to-be.

+Jeff Wilcox  is a Senior Software Development Engineer at Microsoft. While at Microsoft, Jeff has been a Senior Development Lead, Senior Software Developer, Test Lead, and Software Development Engineer in Test.  Jeff was the primary developer of many of the Windows Phone user interface controls, helper libraries, utilities, and much more throughout the developer platform. On the Silverlight team, he created the Silverlight unit test framework.  Jeff has helped ship Silverlight 2, 3, 4, 5, plus rich managed controls for Silverlight, Microsoft.Silverlight.Testing, ASP.NET 2.0, ASP.NET AJAX, Windows Vista, and other exciting projects. Jeff is an alumnus from the University of Michigan with a degree in Computer Science.
