This is a world class museum which you should not miss! We were able to see the Matson exhibits plus all the other great adventures present. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. The museum store was also great--we rarely buy items at these stores but the selection was quite unique so we got out the card. We had enjoyed quite a bit of great food in the two weeks were spent in Honolulu but the museum café was the best we had during the whole trip and in a terrific setting. We will definitely be back.

Honolulu Academy of Arts -: Michelin's recommendations 2 **"This world-class museum boasts more than 34,000 pieces of art and is considered one of the finest in the country. Housed in an award-winning Mediterranean-style building, the collections are equally divided between Western and Asian art. More than 30 galleries surround six landscaped courtyards. The new second-floor gallery is home to the museum's permanent collection of traditional Hawaiian art. "

Nice serene place to absorb and observe the arts. Multicultural arts displays. Everyone, local or visitor, should come to this museum several times a year to cultivate a love for the arts. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I went on a weekday morning and the place was almost empty until the afternoon. Free lockers for your belongings is very convenient. Be sure to get a map because the layout is a labyrinth and easy to go in circles. Signage could be a little better. Museum is free to public on first Wednesday of every month. Also the 3rd Sunday is Bank of Hawaii's family day and is free also. Exhibits change regularly.

Hi, This place has the second best food on Oahu (after Sandy's Sandwiches food cart on North Shore.) If I lived in Honolulu I would get a membership just to have lunch at the restaurant $20-$25 per person including tip. Interesting that the Asian/Indian art is almost all religious. Thanks. God bless. Aaron
