He might not be the fanciest ride, but he’s a ride that you can rely on.
Back when SPIRE was founded, our world was a little different place. Children were seen and not heard. Our fathers – likely named John - had jobs that they would retire from, and our mothers – likely named Mary - stayed home with the kids. And our rural Midwestern landscape was dotted with more cattle than cars. Ford work trucks like our Archie were being built in the industrial hubs of Detroit, Michigan and Dayton, Ohio.
So what does an early-model Ford work truck have to do with a credit union, you might ask? To us, Archie – named for our founder, Edgar Archer – symbolizes the old-fashioned values that drive us (if you’ll pardon the pun). Trust. Honesty. Integrity. Growth. Compassion. Humility. Promises made and promises kept. And plain old hard work.
A lot has changed since the 1934, and in many ways, we’ve changed right along with it. (We’re certain our founder wouldn’t have known quite what to do in the face of our mobile app.) However, there’s one thing that hasn’t changed – the friendly, personal, genuine service you’ll get at SPIRE. That isn’t quaint, or something that used to happen back in “the good old days.” At SPIRE, it’s happening here, and it’s happening now.
Archie and SPIRE. Both driven by old-fashioned values. And both here to get you where you want to go.
