Interesting and surprising; however, it would be good to see (1) how you applied each product, and (2) what happens after a few months.   I've found C2V3 to be an amazingly effective product, and though I doubted it at first, I've found the C2V3 8-month protection claim to be about right.

I bought a Maguire's DA polisher a few months ago, and I'm very pleased with the results I've gotten with it - not that there's anything wrong with the PC-7424 either, from what I've heard.

I just wanted to let you know that you, Chemical Guys, and some great advice over at Detailed Image all helped me to raise my game from 'hey, nice car!' to 'WHOA, dude!  How do you GET your car to look like THAT?'

I'm thinking that a pump pressure sprayer with distilled water and ONR might be more effective at loosening any crud before brushing over the surface with the wet towel. Every touch is a potential scratch.

To avoid any possibility of scratching, at what point would you abandon the ONR approach and pressure wash at a DIY car wash (in a cold climate in Winter)?

Hi Matt, Nice to see you again tonight at the pub. Here is a selection of the shots that I took (the snowboarder in flight is my favorite) - I think the downloaded shots will be of higher resolution than what you see online (not sure). I'll send two or three higher resolution shots by email.

cheers!

Thank you for sharing the experiment with us, Brian.  I was going to get a spray wax for the same purpose, or use a so-called 'nano coating' product named C2V3, which lasts a whopping 8 months on body surfaces (hood, etc.), but I opted to try the AA Wheel Protectant instead.  I'm encouraged, based on your video.  Perhaps I'll use the C2V3 versus AA W.P. in an experiment like you did, and see which one performs better and lasts longest.  Thanks again!   /Jim F  p.s.  awesome car you've got there.

Interior detailing would be good. Other suggestions : car care when it's below freezing outside, fixing that expensive aluminum rim that you just introduced to the curb, cleaning the underside of salt, keeping your car (mostly) clean in Winter between washes, minimizing contaminant fallout where you park your car, what a car looks like after 10 years that did clay barring vs not, renovating an old car for fun and profit, how to find a 'hidden gem' used car to fix up.

Keep'em coming!
