The music is odd but you can dance. A mix of hip hop and rap on a Saturday night. There's both an upstairs and a downstairs and it gets insanely hot downstairs, and insanely crowded in both. There were a ton of guys the night I went, so it got a little bit sketchy.

We wanted to try a new place before heading to our regular place in LES. My friend suggested this place, so we decided to give it a try. We walked in close to midnight on Thursday evening, the bouncer was cool and with a smile he let us in. I did not expect this place to be so huge.It is a multi level bar/lounge which serves as a rock and roll venue and has an inspired lounge setting. Upstairs is a heart bar which is followed by a bi level lounge area. Downstairs have bands playing, though I didn't see one playing when we walked in. As compared to other bars in the vicinity this place was kind of dead with only few people here. The DJ though was playing some really nice music. Now to the reason why I gave this place two stars - The bartender looked somebody right from the movie set Pirates of the Caribbean with long hair and strange attire. I asked him for drinks and I was very loud and clear, even though he kept on making strange faces for two minutes that he did not understand my order. Finally he makes his way back to fetch our drinks and in a very fashionable way he pours the drinks. As soon as we were enjoying the drinks, the guy sitting next to us(in his late 40's or 50's) took the tip back which he had kept on the bar for bartender. That bartender saw that and he got little annoyed. In the beginning he was little disturbed and wasn't that hyper. But a moment after that he got very angry and took the drinks out of the hand of that man and threw his drinks away.He started abusing him like anything, the man though maintained his temper. Than all of a sudden that crazy bartender started saying get the F**K out of this bar. While all this drama was happening no one from the bar management came up to control it. This bartender then comes out of the bar and pushes and throws that poor guy out. All this drama left me with a very bitter feeling about this place. We finished our drinks and left for our usual spot couple of blocks away. Advice to management of this place, keep that crazy bartender out of this bar otherwise be prepared to have some bad affects of it on your business.

The line on a warm night after 12 can be long but usually moves quick This place is always a safe bet a good place to bring a small crew less then 4. Upstairs can get really crowded and hard to dance. Downstairs is usually a little less full. - Top 40 music - Drinks are average priced - Crowd is < 30

Fun bar if you want to dance! Came here on a Saturday night and the bar was pretty full even at 3am. The main floor has a bar with quick bartenders and the back area (have to walk a few steps down) is the dance floor. The music was your typical pop/hip-hop that was easy to dance to and the DJ sitting above the dance floor was there to make sure everyone is there to dance. So next time you feel like shaking what your mama gave you, come to Fat Baby!

Cheap drinks and long lines. Not worth the waiting time as you get inside its crowded and the AC def. do not work. Lines wraps around the corner. Other places locally is better

Fat Baby is one of those places that when it is good its really good but when it is bad it's really bad. On a good night there will be a live DJ and the place will be packed from wall to wall. On a bad night the place is nearly empty and it looks more like a hostel in the red light district. Avoid Fat Baby on weekdays but make sure to check it out on Friday and Saturday nights.
