I've been using this pedometer app, Noom Walk, that tracks the steps I walk every day, plus lets me see how my friends are doing. Try it out!

What is your preferred method for keeping in touch with others?

For as long as I can remember, a mobile number has always been the way to keep in touch with someone no matter where they are. But times have changed, and SMS and phone calls are no longer the only way we can keep in touch. We now have multiple methods of communication, from e-mail to instant messaging to social media. Phone numbers are no longer the only way to keep in touch with someone, but it is still the most basic form of contact information that everyone can use to keep in touch.

Other forms of contact information like e-mail addresses or IM/social media usernames can also be used, and perhaps work better in our current digital lifestyle. Where phone numbers are limited by regional restrictions, single-device usage, and billing/carrier limitations, usernames/e-mails are borderless, work across multiple devices and across platforms and are not restricted by carrier policies and billings.

It's clear phone numbers are not going away any time soon, but if you're like me, you would rather give someone your e-mail address rather than your phone number.

If you had to choose one method, which would you choose?

Nanaimo

I didn't realize how commonly photographed this vantage point was over Nanaimo Harbour at the time, but it turns out to be a rather "iconic" Nanaimo photograph. This photo shows the Harbourfront Walkway, boat docks and Nanaimo Water Harbour Airport in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada.
