A new page! According to the Bible, picking the wrong kind of god or wrong kind of beliefs is a worse sin than not picking any at all. Because of how many kinds of Christianity there are, it is safer to avoid believing any of them.

Updated the summary: A short and pointless Biblical text - the central message is worship God, and the damage from famines and plagues will be reversed, but this is contradicted in the modern world as countries with stable food supplies are the least religious. Written around the 4th century BCE.

Updated this page. As a result of their low quality, only 7% of the UK population rate their news as reliable information, and across Europe the UK's written press is the least trusted, by a wide margin.
I've updated the data to use National Readership Survey statistics instead of ABC stats, and, I've updated data points for "Newspaper of the Year Awards" to include the latest few years. Two papers got an additional negative point for being singled out as a source of hate and vitriol by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (Daily Express and The Sun).

We have an internal narrative in our heads, which we subconsciously create to constantly describe and explain our own actions, and our own perception of the world. But there are many occasions where the stories that it creates are mistaken, and sometimes even completely fabricated. An untrained mind can easily be led astray.

Smoking is the biggest preventable course of disease in the world. Half of all long-term smokers will die from a related disease and it reduces average life spans by 12 to 15 years, killing more than 5m people a year (in 2008 - it's more now). It doesn't just effect those who chose to smoke. Passive smoking also causes harmful side-effects. This has been particularly problematic for children and those who work in restaurants and public places. Mothers who smoke risk their own babies and cause them lower IQ, ADHD and behavioural problems.

Added some references from Robert Park and David Barrett: It is "a sad commentary on reading tastes" that since the 1980s self-help bookshelves have been swamped with endless new age waffle. The very phrase 'New Age' is now associated with such nonsense that many practitioners have switched to use the word 'holistic' instead.
