#1 on the dahlia growing list for next year!
I've never been a fan of dahlias. I don't know why. Maybe it's because sun is such a rare commodity in our garden, and only my most cherished, most desired blooms get that rare bit of sun real estate. Casa Blanca lilies. One sentimental rose bush, given to me by

In homage of #TheFloatingPiers, Dispensa Pani e Vini created this dish called "Sulzano a Montisola".  Trout tartare in goat milk yogurt, garnished with smoked trout roe, sardine crumble, and a wafer-thin cracker representing a segment of the pier.

On the travel wishlist for Italy vacay.
What makes the region so unique to the country is that even if you visit in high season, you might not see any other tourists

What an awesome place.  Norway just got put on the travel list twice...
Walking Up To Pulpit Rock. It’s around a two hour walk to the spectacular Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), up an attractive but steep path.

Recently opened restaurant/beer pub that offers everything from pizza to hamburgers to pasta, grilled meats, salads, and dessert. They even have a menu for little kids which makes this place a good choice for family dining. I really like that it has so much space (this place is HUGE!) and also well-lit, but apart from the beautiful interior, I think the waitstaff are doing an excellent job given that they've been open for only a few weeks. We've been here twice already with our 2 small dogs and I look forward to when they'll have live music. I would've given 5 stars if they had a larger selection of beers (local and international).

Excellent pizza on the thinnest crust that I've ever had in Italy. Great place for a modest selection of belgian beers too. Reservations highly advised as this place gets super busy.

As I dined here only once (for the cazoeùla festival), this can't be counted as a complete review since all that mattered was how their cazoeùla measured up. It was delicious, served on hot plates (as it should be), but lacked the verzini sausages that I have come to expect (it had costine and cotenne). Update June 14, 2016: La Cazoeùla redux! On June 9th and 10th the restaurant put cazoeùla on the menu for diehard fans of the famous dish. 13€ if you took just the cazoeùla (or 30€ for a full menu that included antipasti to dessert). We each ordered the 13€ plate and a bottle of Bonarda "C'era una volta" (18€!!) - che cena! They should also offer wines by the glass...

Conveniently located on the highway and the staff has always been pleasant on the rare occasions that I've gone there. Dogs allowed in the restaurant so you don't have to leave them in a hot car.

For the astonishing amount of people that have come to visit this little corner of Italy, I can only say that everyone involved, local and non, did an incredible job of making this project happen. Truly an experience that I will never forget!

Their central air conditioning system either needs to be fixed or set to a lower temperature. The 2 days we spent at the hotel happened to be hot and humid, and the air con would continually turn itself off (about a minute or so afterwards) whenever we pressed the "on" button. Reception suggested opening the window (which we did), but if the room faces west in the afternoon, the heat comes right into the room! Also, in the mornings and evenings there was an awful stench coming from the surrounding countryside which made the situation even more unbearable. Note: all of the positive things that has been written about this place (pleasant reception, cleanliness, buffet breakfast, position, price) are accurate, but unless the hotel puts a focus on guests' comfort, especially in hot weather, I cannot give it more than 2 stars. The photos on the website also need to be updated to reflect the true condition of this old hotel.

Beautiful position on the lake but BEWARE the days when there can be an excessive amount of people. On Mother's Day 2016 it was complete madness as the kitchen was not able to handle the full restaurant. Our orders arrived haphazardly and not all at once for those who chose 1 dish. The wait for our meal was extremely beyond reason, yet there was nothing that the wait staff could do. It would have been a nice gesture if they had offered complimentary coffee (and I would have forgiven the negative experience). I have dined here before (for pizza in the evenings) and found the staff to be extremely cordial, so to say that this visit was a disappointment is an understatement. SOS Cannavacciuolo!
