This stuff is waaaaaay easier on the stomach than the traditional, chockful-with-candied fruit, heavy "brick" xmas bread.

To think that I discovered squid ink gnocchi TWO YEARS after the original #MasterChef Australia episode aired on the tube.   Alice and Wade's squid ink gnocchi with fried artichokes and bitter lemon emulsion is THAT GOOD.  So glad for reruns, and that I was in the right place at the right time when Italy Week aired on Cielo tv.

Nice welcome and great staff at this quite little hotel up in the mountains above Cote d'Azur. If the hotel had air-conditioning it would've made our stay even more pleasant (it really gets hot in the afternoon when the sun shines into the front of the hotel). As for the food, all I can say is that if we had more of an appetite at dinner, we would've ordered a complete menu instead of just one main dish each. The food is FABULOUS!

Perfect place for a weekend and the food is wonderful. Situated near the foot of Mount Lure, Cruis (in the low season) has all the elements for a peaceful stay in a tiny french village. At the very least, I would wholeheartedly recommend a visit to enjoy dinner at the auberge.
