Lanmark Engineering was retained by our firm to handle some regulatory work in BC. We had acquired some properties in northeastern BC through the purchase of another company. In reviewing the files, we came across a large number of deficiencies regarding the license status of pipelines and facilities. OGC would not transfer the licenses into our name until the deficiencies were corrected. Lanmark was asked to review the licenses, confirm with OGC what was required to get the licenses current and then arrange for the transfer of the licenses into our name. The engineer that coordinated the project was very professional, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. He handled the work in a timely manner, reported regularly on the status of the project and provided clear documentation. We have since used Lanmark on other projects and have been very happy with the people we have worked with and the consistent quality of the work.

In regards to the previous comments, it’s unfortunate that your experience at Lanmark was not entirely positive. Lanmark management takes their responsibilities very seriously and strives to further develop and improve the organization for the benefit of clients and staff. It is a balance between business processes which ensure quality, productivity to ensure things get done, and a positive working environment that staff enjoy and are proud to be a part of. Its disappointing that you did not express these thoughts while part of the organization. The statement in regards to Mr. Bratrud is quite severe and unfair. He helps set the requirements of the Professional Practice Management Plan which assists the organization in ensuring engineering quality and public safety. This is serious business and he approaches it this way. This may have been the root cause for the comments. Tom has read the review and wishes to ensure the writer that he works towards an inclusive working environment, while ensuring quality and public safety. Further he acknowledges the comments and will work to improve staff inclusion. In regards to Ms. Naugler, she is an accounting professional and has significant impact on the financial viability of the organization to the benefit of clients and staff alike. This is just good business. Lanmark values its staff and we are always looking to improve staff events. The organization budgets a significant portion of its revenue annual to staff events. We appreciate the comments and will use them to assist us in further improving the organization. Jeff Larsen – President/Lanmark Engineering Inc.

I worked at Lanmark for nearly 4 years after graduating from university. The experience was nothing short of fantastic. The working environment that has been created is very positive & comfortable. Work hours are flexible, the compensation is very competitive, and there is plenty of experienced people willing to lend a hand. The partners at Lanmark have built a culture of camaraderie, mentorship, and respect. Needless to say, their most valuable asset is their people. If I had to narrow it down to one thing that Lanmark has to offer (and there are many more than one), it would be "opportunities". Since day 1, Lanmark gave me all the tools I needed to excel. Even after moving on to work for an oil & gas producer, I still appreciate the things I learned and the experiences I had during my employment. Lanmark does great work and has a good time doing it. I would not hesitate to recommend Lanmark to anyone looking for employment in the EPCM side of the industry, or an owner/operator looking for engineering services.

I used to work for Lanmark back in 2009-2011, here's what's wrong with them. Lanmark cares about the work they do, but lacks management that people want to work for. The CEO is a good man that cares about the company. However, two of the part owners are not good for the company. One part owner, Tom Bratrud (Engineering manager) is a control freak that needs to have everything his way, regardless of what works best. If it wasn't his idea, it's not fit for him. He's a good engineer, but unfortunately has a terrible personality, a monster to work with or for (hence the high turnover rate in engineering). Lana Naugler is a part owner that is also the accountant? An accountant that is part owner of an engineering firm, I kid you not. Anyway, she is in charge of the cash flow and in turn is directly related to why Lanmark is a very cheap company. As a result, the extracuricular company events are not up to par with what other engineering firms offer.
